Hi guys,
I realise that this is the wrong place to ask a serious question - so, here goes...

I've been off the soaring scene and out of the UK for around the past 20 years or so. However, I started soaring again and will be visiting this summer. Can anyone give me any information on land access these days as it seems to have changed with the 'Right to Roam' laws.

Does this permit us to chuck off any old hill or are we in some way restricted? And where can I find definitive information.

OK. Back to the general p155-taking, now...

Hi kts
It does mean that many slopes are ok to chuck off. However, some of the best are "club" sites & need you to make contact and/or join the club. National Trust sites are ok for gliding, but no power or electric - at all. Some clubs have arrangements with the NT - hence make contact. Also - paragliders are common these days, and some sites they have exclusive rights with the landowners. You cant paraglide under c.r.o.w. act, but model flying is not prohibited. So long as you are not causing "nuisance" or "obstruction", you are ok, but be sensible.

Best thing is to start a thread on here e.g. "visiting the uk - slope sites?" & we'll chip in with the best places & maybe even arrange to meet up - thats what other folks have done, and had fun here. Also, get over onto the uk barcs forum - where we've all just moved to - and ask there too

Phil.

btw - there's a strong argument that the lyric really was "kiss this guy"

One day I'm going to have a big PSS model. Maybe not quite as big as the one that has appeared on a local garage.

Mr Ed : Still loving his first series Relic Strat.
