Wow that was VERY VERY quick build gerald we really need to meet somewhere for a sail together with our brigs.
can you post some more details on your build ?

the original 10 gun brig-slopp hms beagle was built as a 2 mast brig
1831 the ship was convertet to a 3 mast bark for survey duty, and sailing with captain robert fitzroy around the world.

spars, masts, and yards are cylindrical bars from the DIY store, which is covered poplar plywood.
the hull shell, doors up from the band is made of plywood and abs, all of which is the constitution revell in 1:96: D still had an old hull left..
I had no build elaborate underwater ship.
hence the crooked scale of 1:42,7.
The idea to utilize the Consti I had from here:
sail material, keel rail, plexi-keel, etc. I've copied all your somers which anyway was my incentive to build this.
I could not sail because there is no wind, but will drive to the first report.

today i was sailing:
i am very happy with the brig-sloop. she sails great
she goes very well by the wind and is very agile.
keel weight and position is correctly.
i would not have believed that all.
the sailing is great fun

Very nice brig.
Watching your video, I have one suggestion. Your ship shows a lot of leeway, which will make it difficult to work to windward. I think, based on my squareriggers, that your keel needs to be about 6x larger in area. That will allow your brig to work to windward well. One of the reasons rc squareriggers have a reputation as being hard to sail is that, generally, modelers try to sail them with small keels. My vessels, with big area keels, will work to windward in anything from a zephr to a scale gale. I've tried "Footy-sized" keels similar to yours, and have, inevitably, had to retrieve the squarerigger from the leeward side of the pond :-).

thanks for the praise.
I did not know that the keel has such a large impact of windward sailing.
so i will test a new keel. thank you for this tip.

Another thing to enhance your sailing experience would be independend sail control on fore and main masts Gerald, if you still have some access maybe you can still accomodate another servo ?
lets see some more sailing pics !
