Sorry....little late in the evening for me, my day starts a little early.
sbyachts@yahoo.com.
More contact info to follow when we get some other things sorted out.
Yes we are from Sacramento, sailing with the Sacramento Model Yacht Club. Plan on getting back to SF for one one of your races. Do I understand correctly that your last race of the season is this Saturday?

Yes. My attitude is a few more boats make the racing and sailing more interesting and fun. Come on down. Ryan

See you Sat?!. Congrats re getting an approved SBOD here on the west coast! I've got the dates of SACTO's last three races on my calendar. Depending on how 443 sails in Race6, I'll join you for one of yours. Mega-drive but who cares when its for racing SBOD's Maybe I can kidnap a couple of SFMYC skippers for your regatta (s).

Ryan-Right after I posted my plea, the lightbulb went on. The needle hung up when pulling back through the second hole. Solution-drill the second hole at an angle thus reducing the angle the needle and sheet pass through. Its all good!

Splashed 443 to for a shakedown today. No idea if I'm closing in on Vmg without a pace boat. But, I did find another glitch-the rudder. That should be good to go Saturday. Onward.
Jerry

Jerry,
I can't make the next SMYC event October 7th. I can make the November 4th date if you want to go together to their race. I am planning on Joining their club to. Glad to have a west coast builder for the boat. Ryan

Sounds good. Lets see how things go Sat @ Race6.
Lake Natoma is a 2hr drive-4 hrs on the road ):
That may depend on the weather-high pressure/low wind/notsomuch

West Sacramento looks a little more convenient (next year). Jt

Race day was good today. Light wind from 0 to 8knots or so. We had six boats today. Jason Spiller did very well and won most of the races. Looking forward to next season's sailing. Ryan

All - Unfortunately we had a death in the family and my priorities of late have needed to shift. Hope to get back to more sailing and the videos at some point, but it will not be soon.
regards,
Ken

Just got a Santa Barbara !

The widow of Bob Richmond invited the Long Beach Helmsmen over to her house today to sell off Bobs collection of boats. Along with 3 Newport 12s,Soling 50 and 1 meter, 2 US one meters, and 2 Marbelheads, there was the boat I wanted - a Vortex Santa Barbara. It is hull number 1006 and it has the raised cabin with windows that goes about 1/2 the length of the hull. It has a bang/bang winch which is new to me and came with Stern sails. Will get a chance to race it tomorrow in our clubs monthly points race.

Hope to see some of you on the west coast water!

Clay
