Glad to see David is going to make it. It will be cool to fly with the top scoring pilot of the #1 F3K Junior team in the world.

It was suggested that for next year we should find some NYC eateries for the SAt. food fest.

Anyone have ideas as to where to go and type of food to do?

Pizza:
Lombardi's in Manhattan
Tortonno's in Brooklyn

Japanese:
Ninja (http://www.ninjanewyork.com/ - check this place out. Food was great, pricey and the ambiance was awesome. Must make reservations though since they get booked fast)

any other suggestions?

Let's come up with some ideas and we'll pick 3 from the options for the attendees to decide on.

Any type of food would be cool

Count me out of going into NYC for dinner after a day of flying. Not interested. Too many good places on Long Island.

Queens is just a hop skip and a jump away too (and it is the city!).

See post 54.

Frank, Queens and Brooklyn are on Long Island.

Round these parts, when we speak of going into the "city" we means Manhattan. I guess you're not from around here, are you?

OK guys,

the volunteers have been assembled, food and doughnuts ordered, all we need now is you!!!

Anyone coming have any issues with heroes, cold salads and such?

We can only accommodate if we know in advance and we aim to please.

My plans are this:

2 groups of pilots with a 5min break between rounds. Longer as requested but long enough to hydrate everyone and keep the spirits and heartrate up.

All tasks are going to be flown and unless we have gruelling heat or a death at the field, we will be flying till 4PM, longer if the group desires. I am always open to suggestions.

We are planning on having registration open at about 8AM give or take. The sooner everyone registers, we will make up the sheets and get underway. Pilots meeting is called for at 8:45AM but will be determined exactly when all are registered and ready to fly. Could be sooner if the count remains small. I would rather give more/longer breaks than start late if possible. Out of towners will get precidence as to starting time. We will wait for you so don't worry too much if you are running late. We a re all friends and want a fun safe day so no need to rush.

Not sure yet but we might be looking for volunteers to throw. Not sure yet.

As soon as I have an idea on the task list, I'll post it. If you like to fly, get ready cause you WILL BE!!!!

Frank

Sounds fun. What kind of heat are you talking about? It's an Island...how hot can it be?

Today we are hitting 100 but there is a heat wave on the east coast.

Typically we hit in the 80's for Aug.

Haven't hit 90's for a conmtest as far as I recall.

Anything above 85F and above 80% humidity is hot for me.
