My advice would be the same that's already been given ,start with an EPP model, depron on the slope even covered with glass is not strong enough to handle the landings would not wont to see all your hard work go to waste.

Not unless you design the layup and warp and weft direction of the Carbon . Dont get me wrong I think its great a young bloke is having a crack at scratch building ,but I'd much rather you succeed flying slope with some thing that will last through the learning curve rather than being disappointed an turned off by slope. But what ever you do enjoy it .
