What Material you using in your build ? I may have missed it Slope flying is pretty hard and unforgiving on lightly built models.

for the sloper its depron with fibreglass on the outside with a ton of lead in it

umm so a flying meat tray My advice would be the same that's already been given ,start with an EPP model, depron on the slope even covered with glass is not strong enough to handle the landings would not wont to see all your hard work go to waste.

Not unless you design the layup and warp and weft direction of the Carbon . Dont get me wrong I think its great a young bloke is having a crack at scratch building ,but I'd much rather you succeed flying slope with some thing that will last through the learning curve rather than being disappointed an turned off by slope. But what ever you do enjoy it .

Steve is right, to learn slope you want a EPP model for the hard landing, which you will have, you will find it hard if you keep breaking models you spend lots of time on. My Dash8 is made from EPS covered with glass tissue and pva glue thined with water. The wing have a large timber spar to try and hold it all together.
