You are welcome, Larnlor. To answer your charger question, I'll just point you to Daryoon's great write up on the subject:

Feel free to ask questions after reading it. Daryoon and I would be standing by to answer your questions.

Greetings fellas,

Got the new board in for my 9958. Is there a trick to binding it with the tx. Everything is soldered, ready to go, but no controls...

side note: got my first "Y911", the white/red. Definitely snappier plastic and did not fly out of the box at all. Refitted the head from a parts V911, but now have some "toilet bowl". Definitely not the flyer that the black/orange is. Bangood for reference.

you guys are to much. went smooth like butter.

Now, do you have a link to a head set up/ swashplate set up? I am hit and miss so far, and my Y911 has toilet bowl syndrome as well as my 9958. Really need a good knowledge of tuning these things post maintenance...

gonna have to put you two on my Christmas list.

TBE is typically related to, but no limited to, the flybar not moving freely enough. You should start checking that. Beyond that, there really is not much to address as far as the head/swash set up is concerned. The stock configuration is pretty great. However, if you want to tinker down the road. Both Daryoon and I have blogged about swash plate mods. You could check my blog here, or Daryoon's HacksMods.com site, or even search this thread for more info. For now, I suggest that you just get your 9958 and V911 dialed in and get a good baseline. Then, you could tinker to your heart desire. Let us know if you have specific questions down the road.

I have had really good luck reducing TBE by eliminating side to side play of the blades. Move the blades side to side to see how much play is there. This is assuming you have already checked to make sure there is no binding on the flybar or any of the other moving parts. What I have done is put a tiny plastic washer on the blade pin where it goes into the rotor head to reduce the side to side play. Just make sure the washer is not thick enough to cause the blade to bind there. For me, this has reduced TBE on my 9958s more than any other thing I have tried. It is hard to find washers that fit right, some have used paper. Good luck, hope this can help you.

Funny I just took a look at this thread and had problem with 9958. I checked heli and found pin on one blade was broken. Rebound it to stock TX and again its flying good. My other 9958 has bad tail motor but do have a new replacement for it. Now I will change it. After getting V911's I just let 9958's sit but now have one ready and fix the other. My first 9958 was first mico F/P heli and it took a beating. Inspite of all its hit only has minor scrapes on canopy. I'm sure tail motor took brunt of hits and acts weird.

I still have not taken the board off of my painfully slow Y911 and tried to install it on my broken board 9958 to see how it works. But I have basically given up on the Y911. I have been too busy enjoying my V929(not from Banggood) and flying my working 9958s

V929's fly fine and great deal. With T9X you get full benifit of smooth flying Quad. Ordered a V939 to add to fleet. Most likely fly mine and 9958 today. T9X will bind with 9958 but you need to revese couple controls.

Later no in the day flew tis 9958 again. Now I remember why I put it away. Flying in small area drift becomes bad problem. Best to be flown away from walls and household items.

What's up with GWToys coming out with the 9928. Which is supposely a little bigger than the 9958. So bigger battery and motor to handle the weight.

They should have just improved on the 9958 so it's a more serious competitor to the v911. Gotta give it to WLToys, they keep tweaking and refining.

Wished GWToys did the same with the 9958.

Yeah, I saw that. There's also the 9938 which is apparently the 9988 canopy on a 9928 body or something? Hard to keep the numbers straight.

Here's the extended family....

The GW 9928:

I would VERY much like to understand how this is bigger than the 9958. It looks identical from the picture. We need to see a picture of one next to the other...

The GW 9938:

which looks pretty cool, actually.

The GW 9978:

This one can also be found at HobbyKing as a rebrand. I've got the Hobby King version of this one. It takes 200mAh batteries and with some modding you can shove an Eflite 250mAh battery into it. Same Parkzone Eflite style battery connector though.

The GW 9988

This one can be found at HobbyKing as a rebrand. This one is ALSO the Ares MD500 coaxial that you can buy at HobbyTown USA hobby stores! I've verified that it's the same and that it binds to the 9958 transmitter. I've also got the Hobby King version of this. It takes 200mAh batteries and with some modding you can shove an Eflite 250mAh battery into it. Same Parkzone Eflite style battery connector though. The Ares also comes with an Orange fuselage that looks nice.

And finally, the 9998 coaxial.

It's an MCX clone. I've got one of these and it flies quite well.

The great wall toy website says the 9928 dimensions are 23L x 6.3W x 9H cms. It gives the 9958 dimensions as 22 x 4.8 x 9 cms. So that makes the 9928 1cm longer and 1.5cm wider? banggood has this for the 9958 - Size: 23(L) x 6(W) x 12(H)cm, and myrcmart lists the 9958 as 200mm by 95mm.
Measured my own 9958 and could not get much over 4cm wide, 8.5cm tall, and had to measure blade tip to blade tip to get 22cm or a little more. The only thing that sounds any bigger on the 9928 is the battery

I've asked MyRCMart if they can try to bind a 9938 (the fuselage one) with a 9958 TX. It should work, given GW's track record on this, but I want to make sure before I buy one (two, actually--the have it in grey as well!)

Thanks, Daryoon and RoboHeli. I haven't kept track of the GW development, and I didn't realized that they are so many 99x8 models.

I thought I saw something like the 9928 you showed, but I thought it was just a 9958 with a new (LCD) Tx. What's the difference between the 9928 and the 9958? I couldn't tell. Is the 9928 really bigger?

I don't know. I've been sending emails to MyRCMart asking them about the size but they haven't gotten back to me.

Here's the picture of spare parts that come with the 9928.

The battery looks like the 200mAh one that comes with the 9988 and 9978. It's just a tad smaller than an Eflite Rescue Tandem 250mAh battery. Thus, the skids for the 9928 will in fact be different. Perhaps the mainframe is also a little different? Just have to wait for one of us to buy one, I guess.
