it looks good Steve...I maybe would have let the water line (horiz. former) run or curve up to stay in the mid of the rear formers...But you have it figured out...cant wait..hehe..

Almost forgot one thing that will ease the parting board ( splitter board) cut.

The pattern for the profile shape.

The hot wire foam cut taking shape.

Not what I was hoping for in speeding it up, but workable.

Almost 3D

Count me in as well. That is exactly the size that would work for me. Can't wait to see your Bleed Air system j/k.

it's the system in the engine for bleeding air for best performance. it's also the reason for the one of a kind sound that the F-104 is famous for.

I'll have to get some vid and see what that sounds like. I like the jet, but never researched it except for shape.

Thanks

Hey Steve..here is alink to bleed air systems for the 104..not really what is the source of the f104 howl...
http://chair.home.xs4all.nl/data/pdf/Zipper_BASS.pdf

also here is some info on the bypass air system...the source of the howl
http://www.916-starfighter.de/Q&A.htm

Using the term bleed air is not really correct as it is bypass air that is really what makes a f104 have its cool sounds...

Actually, what I was referring to is the Boundary Layer Control system, in which bleed air is taken from the aft compressor section and routed into the wing to the flaps. Nozzles deliver the high pressure air over the top of the flap surface to enhance lift. Pretty neat concept and probably the only thing allowed the planes to landing at <250MPH!
