its safe to charge up to 1C (in your case it is 650mA), above 0°C below 35°C

some types state 5C

I think you're saying your battery has a capacity of 450mAh and your charger has a fixed charge rate of 650mA (not mAh). If that's what you mean then that charger will normally only be safe for batteries with capacities of 650mAh or more.

You might be o.k. if your 450mAh battery specifically says that it can be charged at more than 1C. Otherwise the charger is throwing too much current into it to be safe. BTW knowing the discharge rate doesn't help you decide on what charge rate is safe .

Do not confuse the max C rating for charging with the C rating of the pack for discharge/burst. They are two completely different specs.

3600 4S 1C charge rate is 3.6 amps 3.6 x 16.8v = 60.48 watts

Your charging at 10 amps = 2.78C charge rate =168 watts

To answer your question .... if your packs are RATED FOR 3C or HIGHER charge rates than you are "most likely" NOT damaging them.

If you packs are 2C MAX rated for charging you should reduce your amp rate to 7.2 amps.

Charging rates are "highly dependent" on the quality of the cells/pack.

ALWAYS consult the manufacturers specs for your battery packs.

It's just that this thread had already covered charge rate vs. capacity. I thought maybe you were being ironic by leaving that detail out. We get that, sometimes.
