Found this old picture of me in the RC Soaring Digest archives. My dad submitted this picture of me flying at our home slope in Osaka Japan but somehow neglected to tell me when he did it

. After it was published I still remember him grinning ear to ear when he came in and showed me "the latest" edition. Being the teenager I was, I think I may have blew it off, but now in hindsight it sure brings back good memories. Thanks Dad!

Next time I go to Osaka, I'm going to go fly there! I bet there's some good lift off those big hills behind Kobe, as well.

Flew like crap IIRC but boy can I remember the excitement when dad brought it home and spread the parts out on the dinning table. Views: 63 At our Local river levy. Dad holding an Ariel and I've got a kit bashed skeeter turned sloper. Views: 58 Closer pic of the skeeter with some nice customer artwork. Views: 68 Oishi Kogen (big rock plateau) a fly sight on top of a mountain about 3-4 hours away. Very cold, but insane lift when conditions were right. My 2M one piece wing JADE Impulse. Good times! Views: 24 Flying at dusk along the Yodo River Levee Views: 28 Slope Skeeter launch. Views: 19 The Gentle Lady was one of the first gliders that was truly mine. I flew it a lot on the slope, but it also had a finger hole and I would hand launch it on the flat field as well. Views: 23 Although gliders became the main focus, the catalyst that got us started into RC flight was a local power flying field. Views: 27 My dad, brother, and I (right to left) with our Osaka Flying Club hats on! Snazzy! Views: 23 Using a highstart to fly my JADE Impulse down in the flat park area inside the Yodo River levee. Views: 34 Styling with the Ridge Runt for some late evening flying.
