So ahhhh.......how's it going?? Who's flying, who's building, and who's repairing?? I took my old servo out and roughed up the inside of the wing. I think I'll lay down a slow cure layer of epoxy to even out the bed for the new servo. I'm kind of scared of bonding the new servo in. Those Hyperions are so thin walled, I think I'll run a 20 minite epoxy rim to bond the new servo in. I'm afraid CA would shrink and distort the case, leading to friction on the gears. Been a week since I ordered, hope I get the new servo soon.

Found a small chip missing in the topcoat that I have to fix. Other than that the servo is the last major issue. The harness being the trickiest part to redo...

Still waiting

I've built myself a new way of plugging in servos to hopefully keep it out of the way of the battery. Just need a x plane

No pics avaliable from me I'm afraid. Thinking maybe I'll do the lazy trick and solder the servo wire from the old servo to the new from the servo bay side.
I have also decided not to put the aft wing bolt retainer (and plate) back in but will use tape for fixing it before each flight. More room for the wires this way.

When she's a virgin.....that's an issue. It's almost fun to break her in real hard and not worry about esthetics!! Seems like when they're too pretty, I don't wring them out as hard as after they have obviously seen some action. Save some time and fly with the chip.

Just gotta make sure it won't be the start of a larger crack. Easy fix and accessible on the 5 o'clock position one inch in front of the LE.

Hyperion DS09 AMD Metal Gear Digital Servo

I checked ALLeRC and Air Craft World, for a Hyperion DS09 AMD Metal Gear Digital Servo that I need for my X-Plane. They say they're out of them. I would like one of these to match what I've get so the voltage and servo speed will be the same. My favorite USA suppplier site said they had them and took my money on 12/24.........I called them yesterday, and they said they don't have any now............does anybody know where I can get one?? Anybody have an extra laying around I could buy??

I just checked one of the distributers, and they are out of all the DS09s. They do have gear sets though.

I was waiting to replace my tail servo with a DS09, but may go with a D60 or such. No one seems to have a solid ETA on Hyperions. I think a few ETAs have come and gone.
