Sorry, I didnt explain that very well,

When you move ya aileron stick, with crow on, how much *more* up do you get on ailerons? Im only getting ~1mm more before the surface stops moving and servos buzz (not entirely sure but I think its the wiper bottoming on the lower wing skin)

Aeleron does not go up,just down movement ,flaps are going up as they coupled with aelerons.

Remarkable, that this kind of planes, relatively heavy with not much of the wing area, usually wont steer well on slow speeds, but this one does.
Well ,at least my was
Yuri.

I had flaps only at very close to 90degrees. She slowed down very fast and was a pussy cat at slow speed, even with that much deflection. Since I personally see no need to slow it down any faster, I am staying with flaps only for more aileron authority.

I've only had one dialed in flight and can already see a growing love for this plane.

Thanks again Yuri.

Bill

Ahhhh sweet, thanks Yuri. Ill reprogram it to couple ailerons to flaps

It is seriously one SWEEEEET flying plane, nothing ive flown tracks as well as the X plane by a long shot, and this was only its maiden, felt absolutely spot on.

Yuri, I would pay more for an X plane than what your charging FWIW

We are thinking alike.
I sold most of my planes last year after I flew this one .
It did not make much of a sense to keep them and not flying them.
My latest discovery ,I'd rather have one ,maybe more expensive plane ,instead of two cheaper and not as good.I passed this stage of having more ,more and more planes/some ,even not assembled, but possessed./
Richard sold his Viper and I am proud of it
Yuri,X-planeless

Chris, I had to take off about 1/2mm "or so" from the edge of the wipers to get the movement I needed.

True, and also a bigger battery which will maintain higher voltage. I just wanted to provide some data to show that 5s is not a problem and 6s will probably work, too. Did I mention that the 15x18 Rasa is the shiznit? I have yet to decide if the 78m/s rate of climb the unilog recorded in my 2,7kW/920g Excite is realistic or not. It certainly looked fast. And the prop is so quiet, compared with RFM 14,5x14 and 15x16 it also feels much stiffer. It's gotta be more efficient.

Actually ,control surfaces movement restricted by wipers width on purpose.
At high speed , wipers help not to override radio sticks.
You guys simple did not fly her yet at high speed
Yuri,still X-planeless

I have a battery question since I can't do the math.

The Neu FAI 5S 2100 is 33gm heavier than the 2200 4S pack I am using now, and 5mm wider.

The Neu 1800 5S is 3gms lighter and the same dimesions as my 4S 2200.

The X is considerably heavier than the Viper with the same set-up...and much tougher too I'm sure.

My question is this.....

How much will this effect my burn time between the 1800 or 2100 packs? Is the 36gms difference between the two worth the smaller capacity?

Mega 16/35/1/5.2
16x17 slim

Waiting to order when my motor is finished.

Thanks, Bill

Bill,I have not these them yet ,but found that Neu FAI 5S 2100mha batt is just PERFECT
for X-plane.
You certainly can go ahead with 1800mha for drop in replacement of Your 4S.to avoid plane re balancing .

Concerning batteries: How will you experts rate the GensACE 5S2200 30/60C?
I use them in my 2kW Hawk and they come down at body temp. each time. After 40 flight or so it holds up very well and cells are perfectly balanced. (I've never drained it more than 60% of capacity. As in 40% left in the battery.)

Yuri,

I was thinking more about weight since I'm using a RX pack. I was trying to decide if 36gms was worth slightly less motor runs. Space is not an issue at all. There's only 5mm difference between the two.

I just got 2600mha 55C packs for the different plane to try them.
I heard many good things about Gen ACE batts.from different people.
