Yes, that was 16x17. The 14.5 x14 would be more fun 5S.

Just throw on the 16x17 with a 5S pack and go for it. Just get video...better than mine

Think I need to fly in front of my face for the contourHD to pick it up in resonable size (fish eye lens). Will keep it in mind for the next flight!

I "was" going to play it safe and maiden on 3S, then thought...nah!

Just be very mindfull of the torque roll on launch...that is...if you leave your bungie at home.

I only borrowed my daughter's camera, that's why the settings were off, and my girls are already way over indulged anyway. It usually takes very good video. Russ, a flying buddy shot the video, and is very good at keeping planes in frame...thanks Russ.

Parts for my project is being sent from all over, and today I received my prop and spinner. The ones I chose were HyperSpinner Power (Vladimir's Models, http://www.hyperflight.co.uk/product...for-5mm-shafts) and RASA 15x18.
I don't know how "popular" this combo is or even if it's tried before, but here are my first glance at the package:

The spinner was surprisingly clever. The yoke has a significant offset, but no twist. This will allow the prop to hug the fuselage closely in folded position, reducing drag in glide mode. The narrow spinner actually makes the 15x18 prop a 13.8x18 effective diameter and pitch prop... The second surprise - and the biggest, was that there were no threads or nuts in the hinge pins. The pin is hold in place by the cone itself - very clever!!!!

The prop was really a very tight fit! I had to grind some off the root of the propeller blades for them to fit - I would blame this on the handmade prop and not the spinner - but I also had to trim the cone opening in front of the yoke to allow for the blade to swing to it's full stretch + another 15 degrees of attack angle.

All in all I think it's an aggressive looking combination and I can't wait to see what it will do with the X-Plane at some 9-10K-ish rpm

My setup will initially be flown with a single 5S battery, but final goal is to fit 6S in a 2S-4S config.
I've done some calculations and would be glad to get corrections if I've entered wrong values...

Setup:
ARC 28-58-1 (3180kv)
KPG25 5.2:1
LiPo: Goal: 6S2200 High-C, Initially: GensACE 5S2200 30/60C
RASA 15x18 (13.9x18 effective as proved above)
P125 with Big George modification...

That is one cool looking prop! Blades look much wider than RFM slims.

Do RFM do a cranked centre 32mm spinner?

Here is a log of my Hawk with very much the same setup, except that a 3000 5s battery was used. I think you will like it. It's post #1263. I bought my 15x18 from Plettenberg.
