what setup was in the X that day ? seems like the X wing is stronger then the avarage F5D wing, so its seems a bit odd it broke

maybee there was a crack in that area you did not see ?

wow, its strange to see an F5D wing break these days. Even my Avionik wing has still held together after it hit an Ibis at 200mph about 3 years ago. Im running the same motor in my Avionik on 4S and there's no way that motor is capable of blowing a wing open. It will start smoking before you put enough power through it.

How tightly do you do the wing bolts up? Maybe you cracked something? Any more photos? Wonder what Yuri has to say about this.

It has taken a lot of abuse, especially as I don't have a nice, grassy area to land but an asphalt runway with dirt and rocks etc surrounding it so hidden cracks are a very likely possibilty. If it was a design flaw, I'm sure it would have snapped long ago...

I am actually speechless .
So far about 120+ X-planes have been tested with different weights and set ups.
But I have net seen that sort of damage ever.
I am flying single carbon X-plane with no mercy for about two years and You all
watched "crazy aerobatics" of VooDoo Child after crashes and repairs single carbon X.
I did weight test in the past with the wing and wing broke at weakest point of flap servo opening, which is normal and explicable .
Wing middle part is a strongest ,thickest and even single carbon wing has 4 layers of carbon overlap in the middle.

The only explanation could be ,-damage/stress of LE of the wing at the centre with farther de lamination and separation of the wing halves followed by wing crack .
Dave I am sorry for Your loss.
Will be back to business Jan 1 .
Yuri

I'm sure you're right about prior damage. Not all landings were on the runway (or on the bottom! )

January...seems like a looong time to wait!. Guess I'll have time to come up with a killer paint scheme!

Log for people interested in how much power a 16/35/1 + 5.2gb + RFM 16x17 silms. Using a not quite full 5s 2200 battery.

Static runs, will hopefully get a fly tomorrow.

(using a 100lite until a new p125 arrives)

Hi sykotic ,

Thanks for the data which you posted.

It would be interesting to see how the numbers change due to a full charge.

Good luck on your flight,

Gryphon
