Glad to see two more going out


Finally got to fly my X properly today with it's final power system, without any issues. 5x 2100, 16x17's. It's about it's 30th flight total I think.

No pinon issues with the different spec loctite, and no wing bolt issues



Man, the leap it does when I hit that throttle is pretty impressive now! Top speed is ALOT higher than the 14.5's. Thanks again Yuri!

I am going to set mine up like a pylon racer as I already have f5b type stuff.
My goal is 3-4 S with 3S able to run in the 160-170 area and 4S hang on.
I did some calcs on the Neu 1112/1Y (3500) and it looks like a very good candidate and just wondering what others have been running in pylon setup. Keep in mind it is important to me to have a motor which will run on 2 different size batteries. I'm also open to other motors besides Neu.
Also can anyone point me to where I can purchase quality horns for the elecator, flaps and ailerons.

I have been using this carbon plate from Electrifly (they have it at my LHS) and making my own...easy deal.

I will let You guys to decide which one is more attractive .
At least You won't fight about underwing colors.

Could someone please advice me about CG and elevator throw again. I have CG at 52mm (or at least it was last time I checked) and max throw on the elevator in landing mode (about 6mm up and 4 down, tx at 125%) but I do not have good elevator authority at slow speed. Unfortunately I had to ditch the X in the wheat field with the elevator stick to my stomache on the last flight. One wing bolt retainer to glue back in and some dust to wipe off. No biggie

Weird.

Id double check your CG, and the elevator linkage (and servo). Throws sounds like plenty, and 52mm sounds like the right CG from memory.


EDIT - 54mm felt right to me

X Plane CG Locations

Yuri - 48mm (I guess Yuri's gotta be conservative with something!)
Arctery - 52mm
Jacko - 54mm
Flyextreme & sykotic - 55mm

I have my cg at 55mm, just to add to the list

I know that when I ran my cg at 50 for the first flights I was struggling for enough throw coming onto final. Moving the cg back and increasing my throws quite a bit solved that for me.
