So the stock ESC can handle a 3S?
I thoughht that was hopeless...
Maybe if I don't go WOT for too long at a time?

Who keeps anything stock??

I plan to fly it on 2s for a while IF HK will ever ship my batteries
I've already got my 3s batteries from Horizon so I may be going that route first. I guess I do have a Hyperion 2s 450 25c.

I have a AR6300 and I just ordered some connectors for it. I also have an Orange Rx that I trust if needed.

My Red Mig will be here on Monday, sadly though I'll be roughing it at the beach for 6days. By the time I get back everything should be here. Minus my EMS order for HK China.

Yes, as NC said, don't try this at home! (I mean on the stock ESC)

I'm using a Turnigy Plush 10A. I got the kit version, so all I got was a fan and motor, the rest is out of my parts bin.

I'm using a 4s 360. The jet can definately handle more, I've seen it fly, stock, on 3s 610, so a 4s 400-420 would still work.

I flew my little MIg on 3S for the first time today. MUCH better!! I dorked it on the first launch but absolutely no damage. Gotta love these super light airframes.

My test results were badly worded.

Basically my test setup changed so I couldn't make a direct before and after comparison of adding a thrust tube.

My flights post thrust tube fitted have certainly seemed faster.

Yup, that's the Blowdart. It's ready to fly if/when I get a day below 100 and 20 mph.

My Sabre threw the fan. I must have stripped the nut putting it on after balancing and it finally let loose. It's pretty tough plastic, didn't break any blades bouncing around when it came off. But it's about 5mm smaller from rubbing before it came off.

Also threw the fan. Simply superglued back on for the next flight after checking for balance and damage. No worries after that, I'd recommend it for anyone putting one of these together.

Flew mine again today, with the CG further forward. Much easier to fly, but I ended up with a pretty nasty crash... Got a bit cocky with rolling it, and ended up too close to some trees. In an attempt to not hit them, I ended up stalling it behind them.

It made a good solid thump, and I had to climb a couple fences to get to it. Luckily the battery was still connected, so I could rev it up a bit and walk toward the sound.

After I lost sight of it, I hit a tree right against a solid fence. Luckily I hit below the top of the fence and could get it easily. Total damage was a lost aileron linkage (really need to make a better system, hoping my second new revision stays on better) and the wing popped off the fuselage. No damage to the fuse or wing, just a bad glue joint let go.

I've got it all back together now, but the winds are way too high now.

Next flight will be at a bigger park, a small softball diamond is just a bit too small for it and my reflexes just yet. A full soccer/football field should be much better.

You don't need to change the connectors to fit the AR6300, just swap the brown and orange wires and cut off the little bump on the plastic housing, then press into the RX.

Mig CG (arf w/tanks mounted) - I've epoxied 7g of lead under the nose behind the intake. With stock setup this puts it at right on the manual's CG if not slightly ahead. Where/how is everyone mounting their balance weight? Haven't flown it yet but it doesn't feel like it has much power. Another brick? Is the F-86 a better flyer?
