Mig-15 spins

I did some spin testing last night. Since moving the CG forward it won't flat spin.

It will death spiral as long as power is on, but it's not easy to get into one. Low speed, full throttle and it snaps over into one. Basically it's a hand launch gone bad. Reduce power and it comes out right away. Keep power on and it'll spiral into the ground no matter what you do on the sticks. Thrust angle correction should pervent it.

Enough to get everyone's attention at the field. Today I balanced the fan since after about 20 flights yesterday it got quite noisy. Now it really makes "woosh", I think it is little bit faster now, maybe can touch 130 kph (80 mph).

My stock plane from BH with a Rhino 2S360 was tail heavy, so I added 1/4 oz lead in the nose, cutting out some foam so it fits almost flush. I ran into a steel weight in the nose!

I stalled it up high trying to do a loop, and it recovered OK.

Today I treed it about 50 feet up. The wind may eventually blow it down, but I ordered a replacement already.

I like the sound of that. I've got some 2S between 610 & 800 that can be put to use then. Bring on some more new mainframe already!!!!

My previous unflyable state was just a rearward CoG position.
I put a single dollar coin in my F-86 2S setup and it transformed my plane from unflyable to satisfactory.
I hate dead weight so when I got home I clean up it's nose - which had a few crinkles from "nose landings" and glassed the 5cm of it's nose. This added some much need weight but at least in a functional manner.

I've lighted almost everything in the tail - except for the metal pushrods. I've got some 0.6mm CF rods coming though.

How much lighter is EPS compared to EPO? 20% lighter airframe would certainly be worth it.
