Received my Mig and F-86 today.

Started tearing the the F-86 apart.

Does it really need 2g worth of magnets to hold the fan cover on? Dumb and it makes the cover very easy to break trying to overcome the 10X more than required clamping force.

Bare wing weighs 16g

Bare fuselage weighs 31.7g before any lightening (replace the magnets with scotch tape and it weighs less than 30g)

Great idea to remove the magnets in favor of tape. Should help move the CG a bit forward.

You got the ARF, right? What components are you planning to use?

I have a PNP Mig and JST plugs that I plan to use an AR6400 with.

The Sable will probably be a Plush 6A, and AR6400L for elevator and AS2000's for ailerons.

UNGH,

Could you please indulge me and re-summarize the considerations as regards battery voltage and the AR6400? Will you be using the 2S AR6400BL, or an in-line diode with the 1S 6400?

Thanks,

Gene K

Dont have it in the air yet, but balanced the fan and tested on 2s and 3s.

~4a on 2s and 6.4-6.5a on 3s.. Hate to blow up the stock unit with no replacement, but its too tempting.

How about you Nitro, watt meter (brand) also?

Im in the 10% using this little feller

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10786

Im using a HK 8-10a esc, which is pretty much what use for everything small(less helis). - It started a little weird on 3s, but otherwise seemed good.

Sure, here is the Wiring Diagram to use when using 2S or 3S with an AR6400:

The AR6400 BL doesn't have enough Amps.

The New SBACH brick might (5 Amps ESC) and the servo hookup would be easier since it has no servos on the brick.

Mike, I am using the Astro Flight 101D Watt meter: Product here

Weather is still shocking here. The sun peaked out of the clouds yesterday but still really windy. It's raining again right now as I drink my morning coffee. It's supposed to get even windier on the weekend.... sheeshh...

Thanks for the *clear* diagram and the info regarding the SBACH brick.

This is exactly what I've been waiting for!
A 5A continuous ESC/RX with would be fantastic!
And ALL the servos are separate!

The ultimate brick would handle 3S up to about 7A :-)

Those look like some encouraging figures... but to be honest I've bundled mine together from run-of-the-mill components and it actually flew - on 2-cell no less! From that beginning 3s should be a doddle.

JackDaniels - Yeah love those little HK SS 8/10A ESC's. Strip the heatshrink off them and shorten the leads to length and you've got a bloody light 3s-capable ESC!

Nitro - This wind is horrible... and I gotta ride my pushbike to work this week!
