Complete Systems Have New Orange Rx

The complete systems have the new Orange Rx with the micro plugs instead of the Futaba pins:
http://www.hobbyking.com/unitedhobbi...dProduct=17300

The new Orange Rx by itself has not been released yet I don't think.

Sorry to nit pick, but it's not entirely certain the Rx supplied with the RTF sets is "the new Orange Rx with the micro plugs". The Rx shown on the HK site is the same one shown in the SkyAngel manual. There's nothing Orange about it I can see. It is possible there is a new Orange Rx with mini Futaba plugs which is different. It would be a natural product for HK to develop (or maybe rebadge this one) to go with their 2.2g servos.

So it is just possible there are two micro Rx going to be available. Either way it is good news.

does anyone know if a AR6400 (3.9g) with built in servos would fit in the F86? I was thinking running steel wires to the ailerons like the um P51.
Failing that I'm going for the orange rx http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11972
but its 2.9g plus 2x1.5g linear servos = 5.9g so thats 2g more than the AR6400.

forgot to ask, does the hobby king orange rx run on the usual 6v unlike the ar6400?

Hey Green,
I'm Pretty sure it does run on 6v, just like the other orange Rx

2) There's a full static test run with voltage, current watts and thrust on 2S in my post #141. Haven't seen any good data for 3S yet. That's waiting for the experts who are anxiously waiting on their planes to arrive.

Thanks for the info John, I saw your 2s run up a few pages back resulting in 4.25amps. Looking forward to your 3s numbers to see just what kind of fire hazard I may be flying.

I guess the safe bet for the rx is to get the orange 4ch with some extra leads and plan on cutting the stock mini/micro-jst connectors off the aircraft and soldering on new ones.

Finally I had the time to maiden the F86. This was the kit version with Hobbyking servos. The links were at the innermost hole for the most throws.

For anyone using the AR6300, you can order JST Servo plugs and some Heat shrink from Deal Extreme to swap plugs, being careful to ensure wire order is maintained (wire colors may or may not be correct).

I just fitted an AR 6300 to a Mig (ARF version with battery). The stock plugs on the servos are wired wrong, and the stock plugs don't fit into the 6300. Which saved me from blowing something up.

I released the pins and fitted them into Spektrum micro plugs, with the wires in the correct order for the 6300 (ground is in the middle).

All working, with no magic smoke released.

Stock Battery Info ( the one that comes with the RTF and ARF versions).

2S - Red JST plug

350mah 15C (official factory specs)

Size. 40mm x 25mm x 15mm
And it's a TIGHT fit into the batt compartment.

Weight. 26g

The nanotech 370 2S ( 63x32x9mm) probably will not fit, too wide at 32mm vs 25mm

Better choice would be the Rhino 360 2S at 43x15x21mm - should drop in if the dimensions on the HK website are correct.

Noticed the ARF version of the MIG back in stock this afternoon. Pulled the trigger and added the Turnigy and Rhino batteries. Also picked up the air frame parts for the MIG (still no canopy) and the F86. Buying everything (except the horz. stab for the F86) via the "combo" links saves a few bucks. A $32 ARF turns into a $100 order. Keeping these things close enough to see is gonna be a problem

It does. It fits easily.

But the cockpit area is undercut with a couple of grooves. You can get a wider battery in.

success but at what price - CG?!

alright, alright just came back from the park, 4 packs through my Mig, in great shape considering how many times I stalled out trying to roll and loop. Trimmed up, she flies true tracks easy, super twichy though need to dial down ailerons or to outer holes. elevon function doesn't really work, nice elevator is strong. Good control decent power but not exciting and very small flight envelope = high throttle, low run time, too slow you stall easy, only big loopy circles

CG is forward of battery bay!!! only way I got it trimmed up was with lipo taped to front. hatch no attached. will try to remedy but with all the weight savings cg is far forward of original going to try to fix it without cutting. maybe bombs will help

For how well this mig flies there is no aerobatics... Overall I think the gear is overdoing it and the foam is too heavy. Using this 35mmEDF+ar6400L+6Aesc+2s360Rhino (No As2000l's) combo - One could build a smaller MUCH lighter (less detailed) EDF delta elevons on the wings that would easily be aerobatic!
