I also bought a set of Mig-29 parts which seem to be complete.

Be aware about the A-10 parts, i didn't see the nacelles for the motors so I didn't get a set for that. Possibly incomplete?


Also, I was wondering... perhaps with could BIM or NC to create a 35mm shapeways housing - something that would accomodate a 12mm inrunner. Something that's a slot in replacement for the stock housing but will take standard 12mm inrunners.

As for the rotor, one of the best readily available options would be GWS 40mm rotor cut down to 35mm using the new 1.5mm shaft adapter (so the rotor isn't glued in place). They would have a nice, reusable housing.

What do you think?

Flaperons on Hawk

I got my Hawk to have flaperons:

-Removed the Y connector of the ailerons
-plug right aileron in the aileron channel
-plug the left aileron in the ruder channel (these micro planes dont have rudder)
-enable dual aileron mode

Mixture:
-mix 1: Aileron (master) > Ruder (slave)
-mix 2: FLAP (master) > Ruder (slave)

Im using a 4 channel micro receiver

on flaps the Hawk likes to go left, so you can correct this by playing with the mixture FLAP>RUDER so the left aileron gets lower so it will correct this tendency

Thanks Jon, really enjoyed watching. Its really exciting when a manufacturer listens to request like Jpower does.

I have a suggestion, a nano 35mm passenger jet would be really nice, perhaps a Boeing 737 or Airbus A318? There arent any small passanger jets around except scratch built ones.
I have a friend who is interested in the hobby but would really leap in if there was a small passanger jet available.

If we're going passenger jets, I'd still prefer belly landing, thus only MD-80 or 727 would avoid engine below the wing and tearing off on grass.

If a passenger jet is considered, make it a twin at least to keep the cost down. Even an executive jet would be cool.

I agree ... I would LOVE me some General Aviation models from Jalin

Funny you mention that ... I was told a day or so ago that I should have one more cool thing to show from Big J by years end ... GA ... twin.

so what's the deal with the 50mm edf A-10 & Su-34? seems like only Banana Hobby had them, and like they only got one shipment. did they not due well? or problems?

Anyone know which is a better flyer - the 35mm A-10 or 50mm A-10?

With these 35mm EDF units, what I would like to see, a B-47 or B-52. These small EDFS, times 6 or 8, with 3 cells, you could have a very scale looking bomber with good power.

Anything more than 2 EDF's in this size is gonna be too much... only my opinion but if you had 6 or 8 then you need more ESC's as well and at this size the extra weight is a factor plus you would need more mAh (bigger batts) otherwise the flights will be barely worth the effort...

I agree with Strike3. You cant find replacement motors and fans for these as it is. Over here they are asking $28 per motor plus another $10 for the fan unit. If you have something go wrong your in trouble. Say you crash and damage 3 or 4 fans/motors your up for a small fortune. Just not worth it IMO.
The motor in my Mig burnt out and if it wasn't for a friend of mine being very generous and rewinding it for me I'd be in serious trouble seeing as replacements are impossible to find.

My Mig-29 kits have shipped. Cant wait to get them and start organising power systems for it. This will be fun

There's quite a few other options in proper passenger twins.

The original DC-9
Caravelle
BAC-111
Various Bombardiers and Embraers
Fokker 70 and 100

Plus the various "Executive" jets of course.
