Thanks in advance from a novice at this.....

Good use of the Scarab there. Looks like it might have been windy (bouncy video) - but I guess it's always windy where you live?

Hi Jason,

Yep around 13mph to 16mph in the bouncy parts, yep the wind is a problem but very used to flying in it, but the quad does not like it too much!

drmgcm, try to edit the video again with some deshaker. You will be surprised with the results It will scale your video, but you can put it in to 720p.

hey guys,

Just created a thread for people to come and talk about cameras and filming videos using multwiicopter aircraft.. I thought it would be a good idea rather than hijacking this thread with talk not specific to setting up and flying multiwiicopters.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...8#post19973184

Come and join in!!

Cheers,

John

Why did I wait so long to upgrade to 4S and triples. Nice and smooth video and all the gello gone! 12 min flight time on a 2650 mAh 4S! The problem I reported previously was due to a weak motor. Quinton nicely offered to replace it.
Scarab in the Fog, I am happy to have a reliable Gps on my OSD...

Yeh and more money, lol, i was thinking of going to a Y-6 or a Hex as it's mostly windy over here all the time, but i'll see how my funds are at the end of the year before i make the move.

Just out of curiosity how would you set up an X-8, i understand it is 4 more motors and esc's on the x frame, but how would you setup a Paris V4 to work an X-8? and what about receiver?

Regards

Danny

Yea they are better for wind due to the coaxial thrust.

They don't get pushed around as much as a flat 6 or 4

With the paris board for a x8 you would use Y adapters on the ESC wires since there are not 8 outputs.

It is a poor mans x-8 but it would work.

Okay thanks for that, i guess you would just reverse the thrust of the motors/prop underneath to counteract the torque of the top motor/prop? So your underneath motor/prop is turning in such a way as to be pushing thrust upwards but in the opposite direction of the top motor/prop which would push thrust down?

Hope this is correct?

Has anyone done this? and how good are the results?

Danny

yes, but with Y adapters you need the props to spin the same direction, since the FC does not know it has 8 motors it has to act like there are 4 for yaw.... where as a true 8 motor config has control of all 8 motors independently.

I have not done it, but many on here have with fairly good results.
