CrazyJ, you are famous! I was out at Crissy Field this morning testing out my new CC and on the way back to my car (had a gnarly crash)....someone came up to me and asked if I was the guy at the cyclocross race the past weekend.

I said unfortunately not and that you were a FAR better pilot than I could be. He seemed genuinely impressed and couldn't stop saying good things.

The 45-degree downward-looking shots were from the Scarab Stealth. Unfortunately I was in a rush to get it camera worthy and had used a bent prop adapter on one of the motors causing the camera vibrations (which I tried to hide using moon gel). Next time, the vibes/jello will be gone - since the Scarab Stealth is possibly the most quiet and smooth copter I own.

The more usualy camera angle was shot from my Scarab QuadOcta flying FPV.

Hope you enjoy the slightly longer than usual video (the racers and event people like to see it all).

Heres some aerial video testing I did with the GoPro onboard the Scarab.

GOPRO QUADCOPTER - Farm Flight (1 min 40 sec)

This was all filmed just LOS. The next step will be shooting FPV style. I need to work on the GoPro mount. If I shoot with the 1080 R5 setting you can see just a bit of props on either side and this can be cropped out.... but id really like to shoot 720 with a clear frame.

Video Again

Okay so i have gone over to the 3 bladed 9050 props, and moved over to 4s, man all i can say is that it's the bomb on this setup.

Really smooth flying, and no jello effect any longer and that's even in GoPro R5 mode.

Although this is similar to some previous videos as it is at the end of my estate, similar views i liked it the most. (it is also my testing ground for all things that i fly) :-)

All the best

Danny

ok quick questions. I am between this frame and a Rusty frame. I have a CC board now and was wondering if I would be able to plug and play mount it on the SCARAB. Is that possible? Also, if I bend a tube in some crash, can they be replaced by say a Trex450 tail boom?

Yes and yes, the CC mounting holes might need some help. But for sure with 450 or any 12mm booms

meaning.... is the hole spacing in the CC board the same as those on the frame? If not you might have to adjust this a little bit.

minor adjustments for fitting the holes with the frame.

you might need to drill the frame if the CC mounting holes are not a fit, there are a lot of holes so they might fit.

someone who has actually used the CC on the scarab will have to tell you.... but even if it doesnt minor help....
