Has anyone ever used one of these?

I am interested in using one of these to check loaded RPM, however, the info on the item doesn't state whether it actually records the max RPM.

Has anyone had any experience with these?

Here's where I got the idea to search on ebay for the same type of device.
6th item down on the list.

Well, with the one on E-bay it says it shows the KV while the motor is working. Maybe it does not keep record than of the max rpm's.
I also thought about getting one, but would like one that can work for both brushed and brushless motors, if available

Get an eagletree, Amps, volts, rpm, temps and GPS if you get that module. Full data logging downloadable to you PC, data comes out in a nice graph format.
with the inductive pickup you can measure up to 300 amps if I remember correctly.
There are a whole pile of other modules available for it that aren't much use in a boat, like a pitot tube!
Not sure about the brushed stuff, but nitro and brushless are well supported.
