Hobbyking 70mm EDF Mig-15 with Flaps, electric retracts and airbrake
Length: 1118mm g
EDF: 70mm with 2836 kv 2770 Outrunner Brushless Motor
Servos: 9g x 10
6-7 Channel (throttle, elevator, aileron, rudder/steering, retracts, flaps/airbrake)
The plane looks very nice! I ordered one and will review it soon.

It looks similar to the one by Nitrop. They mentioned tha is made by Exceed-RC.
But this one has airbrakes.
The NP has a nicer scale landing gear though.

Mig-15 arrived. Unboxing and first look
Today I received the Mig-15 and I found the following:
- Surface finishing: Excelent except the 37mm cannon (see pic). Good painting job.
- Electronics installation: Good. Only the main retracts and one of the airbrakes need attention.
- Wings: CF or FG rod reinforces 3/4 of each wing half. Thay could have added 3" more and I'll be happier.
- Compartment size: Enough for 4s 2200 to 3200.
- EDF and ESC accessibility: Very good. Just two screws and you are there.
- Cockpit. Not many things here. It needs many scale touches. The space is more for a torso pilot than a full body one.
- Retracts: Units not so scale. The motion is slow and scale. The mains are not flush with the wing. I think is because the wheel and strut are too thick for the wing and the electric retract is not fit for this purpose. Also no gear doors.
- Overall I like it. I will continue with assembly and testing asap.

It took me around 2 hours to put it together at 95% completion.

Maiden flight and review
Yesterday I maidened her with a Rhino 3700mAh 20C 4S.
It took me almost all the runway to take off. I made it 20m before the line of trees.
The power was barely enough to avoid crashing. Definitely needs a >50C battery.
The plane is very noble, and didn't have any bad flying habits. Is, by far, the easiest to fly EDF I've had.
The EDF is badly balanced. It vibrates badly at 1/4 and 3/4 throttle.
The landing gear seemed to be glued with stamp licking glue. Both mains went off at first landing attempt.
No major damage, some scratches only.
The ESC is not properly attached inside the ducting so one wire was brushing against the prop adapter hub.
The plane is gorgeous, but its full of quality control issues. I think is better to wait for the kit version, where you can choose your EDF, ESC combination.
The EDF unit must be replaced with something reliable and balanced. I am checking the HET Typhoon Brushless EDF 2W-20-75A.
With some changes, this plane can be a real blast. Also, first change all the foam hinges with real CA hinges.

Thanks for the pics ..it will fly better with more power ...i have a exceed 70mm Mig 15 and it is a ball on 900-1000 wattsa 4000 mah 4s 30c batt

Now I need to think about the right battery and ESC for it.
What battery do you use?
