Hey guys, I still have a problem i hope someone can help.
I have reprogrammed all esc's and double checked everything...
After exactly 30 seconds the motors go into idle. I then lower gas then apply gas....30 seconds later it happens again....

Thank Ken.
Just remove the .txt extension.

Simon

The problem was with the R617FS Futaba Receiver?
I would start the motors apply a little throttle then switch off the radio, all motors go back to idle speed.
So i just tried another receiver 8ch Futaba, i do the same test above, this time when i turn off throttle the thing goes to full throttle !!!
Yeah, Luckily i was holding the thing very firmly above my head.

The problem seems to have gone away, i can only put it down to a faulty receiver.
Either way, how do i setup the gas to hover when RC link has gone?

Thanks again mate.

Set your throttle failsafe to an appropriate number, but be very careful because if for some reason you lost link whilst it was in your hand you would have a machine wanting to power up and go. Of course that applies to any aircraft.

Sounds like your having receiver / failsafe issues I don't do Futaba so don't know how they work.

I think Simon is looking for a failsafe gas setting and time duration like on the MK so if it loses radio it will default to the on-board failsafe regardless of radio, and if you have it set up right it will do a controlled descent, its a good MK feature as not all radios support it etc

Oh right, not sure if we are going to support that sort of thing on this board, it certainly will be supported in the mainboard as that will have a scripting language. You could tell that to goto to the shops and come back with some milk.

It might be possible to do this now with CC but James or Oleg would have to chip in.

As the CC board is cross platform I can already see people adding that to their fixed wing aircraft and then having fly aways.

Moral of the story is you should not fly out of range of course!

Usually all such kinds of problems can be diagnosed by inspecting various uavobjects in the browser. For instance, when motors went idle, did you have "armed" state? Did you have throttle level above zero (in the browser)? Etc, etc. It is quite useful feature of GCS but not all know about it. Of course, we need some kind of description how all is works on the wiki.

30 seconds is the default auto disarm time. It will be activated if you have zero throttle during this time. So in your case I can think that for some reason the system thinks that you have it low, and auto disarms. But only object inspection can say that exactly.

I know that some futaba transmitters have inverted throttle channel. At least, it is the case for S.Bus input and 8FG, and I saw that with PWM receivers too. So that might be the case.

Hey, I just wanted to post up some photos of my friend Al -- he is using the CopterControl board on this xRotor Mega Sport Quad from BlueSkyRC.com.

Very impressive, powerful little board. Some very promising things to come with it I am sure.

We are not a commercial project, we underestimated the demand somewhat dramatically and will get on top of stock issues shortly.
