I am waiting on the same se-up from EDF Hobbies. Have a few flights in on the 64 and it's a blast on 4S stock (while it lasts). Have you ordered from EDF H before . I have read allot of mixed reveiws about'em.. let me know how it goes.

I have never dealt with edfhobbies before.
Ordered on the 26th, shipped on the 27th, out for delivery today.
We'll see.

Going through my parts last night. I pulled a Phoenix 80 ESC and dimension engineering BEC out of my old 6s PZ mustang.
I have 4 30c 4s 1800's with just a few cycles and some brand new 40c 5s 1800's.
I'll be looking for a motor to try it on 5s at some point.

IMO a 5S setup will be way too heavy for this bird...

Its a 40-56g difference depending on what pack you use.

4s 40c 1800's are 220g.
5s 30c 1800's are 260g.
5s 40c 1800's are 276g.

I fly mine with a genace 2200 (which are quite heavy for their size but great batteries), so I don't see why it's not do-able with 5S. Just carefully selet your motor KV to keep the amps down to about 40 (800w ). Otherwise the flight times are going to be really short with that 1800mah battery.

Interested to know how you make out.

Yes, I ordered on the 27th and shipped on the 28th. So maybe some of the negative talk was just that "talk". I can say it's a 100% improvment over HK. A week just to get to the front warehouse? Got a few flights on the 64 today and outta my 20+ planes and jets this has become my favorite fast I just love the way it glides and grooves! Can't wait for the cyclone

Yeah, no problem. Received today via USPS.

Weighed the lipos.
216g 4s 1800 (30-40c)
276g 5s 1800 (40c)
267g 4s 2200 (40-50c)

and the Stinger arrived.
Value Hobby got that to me quick.

good luck with the build... Note: you need to make a thrust tube and also balance that 6 blader before you install it. Despite that they say its balanced sometimes its not...

Is this the same Stinger that Hobby Lobby is selling? Been thinking about geting one for my next plane.

Interesting that after putting together a bunch of these from HK that they actually have a box with box art on it...

+1 on the balancing, it makes a huge difference to the longevity of the motor and the sound of the plane. A heli tail rotor magnetic balancer is ideal for the job.

4s flying here I come.

First flight today, almost became a causality. 3 Cell-2200 25C batt, all stock. After 2 mins had a brown out, motor was un responsive and went in fail safe mode or nothing mode.

Rebooted the TX, and regained control, landed ok.

Guess I need a new controller or install a BEC.

Don't mind keeping it stock, just want it to work.
