RE-Maidened Stinger

Yesterday was 65f Sunny and 3-5 Mph wind. Perfect time for a lunchtime fly of my Stinger, after the painful sortie on its maiden flight.

I boiled the nose and got her pretty well straightened out. Water decals and paint are not so pretty anymore but hey, she's back in business.

5 Flights with a 1550mAh GensAce 3S and a little weight in the nose. What a rush! I dailed in dual rates down to 15% travel or 85% on my 9X Turnigy and gave it 30% expo. She was totally manageable and predictable. What a great little plane. 1550mAh gave me 3 1/2 -4 minutes and I only hit the low voltage cut off once in 5 batteries. That left me with 3S at 11V. I'm very pleased with this plane. It is a great entry point into EDFs from prop planes. I had no one to video it, that will come.

I may get one now. These things look so addicting! Will these run a 4s on stock setup?

I would recommend changing the ESC for 4s... and the stock motor will not last long, magic smoke will appear... but you may get a few flights before it happens!

Why? Your giving up grams that can be more mA. A 2200 30c is perfect.

I use the 2200 25c nanotech and it works fine on the PNF version. Came down warm and fine. Appox 3-4min flight time.

PNF static max amp draw at 31amps. 33amps on Plush 40 esc.

2200 25C theoratically provides 55amps constant output. More than enough to handle burst throttles. The additional 50C(110amps) burst output is an added bonus to further handle any surge.

Has anyone tried to pack a 3000mah 4s nano tech battery in one so you could get over 3 min flights with the wicked set up from don's?

I am using 4s 2650mAh batts and getting 5 minute flights with plenty of WOT passes... my motor is the stock motor from the HK T45 64mm and the fan that comes with it is a 6 blade... I have cut it down to 3 blades and balanced it. My doppler passes average around 90mph straight and level.
Might try my 5 blade stock Stinger fan next and see how she goes... I have no doubt my 85A ESC will handle the extra amps... the batteries will probably need a vent to keep them cooler though!
