yeah, it looks very nice for the price. I may have to get one of those over the winter months. should make a good build along side my RBC 70mm A-4 Skyhawk.

Thinking about putting afterburners on the Stinger as a winter mini-project in the coming months...

Flite Test - F-18 Blue Angels EDF - REVIEW (10 min 36 sec)

What do you think?

Maybe you have to change your flyingstyle habits a little bit, itīs a Jet and it wants to be flown like a Jet I really like it, itīs more "real flying" an airplane than just pushing around an overpowered foamie
Ok! I shall change my flying style for the Stinger. Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one who experienced this. I know what to do now!

cwilde, definitely a nice mini project! Especially if you have thrust tube on, you can use the little spaces inbetween the tube and foam nozzle for attaching the fibers.

Does anybody have experience with both Stinger and Concept-X jets? I know the Stinger has a weaker ESC and is only designed for 3S use. Is the Concept-X worth the extra money from the perspective of flight characteristics?

Thx

The trust is however noticable more then stock but does not show in top speed wise.

On 4s 2200mah 30c however this thing is a speedster.
Thrust is really awesome and the speed is alot higher then stock.
However its still not a speed rocket but at full throttle is moves around pretty fast.

So im quite dissapointed with the cyclone on 3s but im happy with it on 4s
This was all tested using the 6 blade fan.

Great mate. Which cyclone motor and fan did you use? Source?

Maidened my Stinger yesterday, flew really well with the stock setup and a 2200 3s but lacked a bit of speed for my liking...
I have now upgraded the power system and can't wait to get her airborne again... on 4s!
One criticism I have is the way they have angled the aileron servo's(and covers), if they were set straight it would have made great skids for grass take-offs on the plastic covers. I am sure it will still do it but that would have made it much better.
I will try to get a video of the next flight...
Cheers,
Dave.

I have left mine on 3s, not ballistic but a good fun model.
I don't bother hand launching. Just put it on the strip, grass, synthetic etc and it just drags itself airborne off the skids. Can even steer it with rudder once it has built a bit of speed up. Mind you i think i should watch out for debris etc as it would probably blow the fan.
Even done touch and go's

I couldn't be happier

heres the new set up
HET EDF fan unit 6904
Typhoon EDF-2W-20
Hobbywing Platinum 60A ESC

this will be running on 4cells

getting the fan in was a little fiddly but its in

Hi guys, new to the thread. But from your comments it looks like this plane is definitely worth the money. Has anyone installed a hook on the bottom and used a bungee launcher yet?
