Flight number 13 proved to be the undoing of the Stinger stock motor. In my own defence though I must say until today I balanced the WOT flight time before this one. Going with the Eagletree in this time I held WOT much longer then I normally would. The windings are pretty burned, Time to drop the Wicked 4000 in her now and I will do another Eagletree run with that one in.

Is this the motor you were using?

I am going to fly it at 70% d/r and 30% expo.

If then its still to touchy then i will lower the d/r to 60 or 65%

I have the ailerons at 50% and the elevator at 60% for the low rates. Rudder is at 100 for all and only 10%expo. 30% expo on all others.

No video and the weather tomorrow in my area isn't going to cooperate for a test flight.

The Wicked 5400 is not intended for 64mm fans on 3S and definitely not on 4S. The 4000 Plus motor is what I used in mine and it was 105 mph via doppler averaged upwind and downwind. That is my recommended setup on the Wicked series of motors.

Spent some time on the bench and now the Stinger is no longer my only plane without retracts
Dry weight (no battery) 667g.

It is flying with the Wicked 4000+ and performance was excellent so I am hoping the extra 93g are not much of a penalty. But in any case and like I said before, take offs and landings are half the fun for me

Comments? ideas?

Just test flew mine on the weekend. Standard 3s 2200 setup. As much control as i could muster. Awesome fun, does wicked negative snaps.

I have given up on hand launches. The fields i fly off have synthetic strips, So just place it on the runway clear of any rubbish then open it up keep it straight with rudder and it gets airborne pretty quickly.

Couldn't be happier
