How come these one are so much cheaper. Will the expensive ones give me more range?

You must find out yourself. But with Circular antennas, as with most FPV equipment is the general rule of you get what you pay for. If an antenna is cheap, you can be fairly certain it has not been tuned, SWR`d or tested anywhere near the more expensive option. Also build quality probably sucks too

If you buy from IBCrazy or anyone else who put a lot of effort in this you'll encourage them to come up with an even better antenna ;-).

(instead of sending money to people who copy their ideas)

for 5.8, I have tested this antenna yesterday, It was too windy so I stopped at 6km with perfect video, but I was too far downwind and the wind was crazy, everything with HK 200mw and 305 rx of course, a pinwheel (SPW) on the tx side.

tomorrow or Monday I will try to push more....

stay "tuned"

Those anntennas look nice and the cost isnt outrageous. I will probably go with the pinwheel set first and then maybe buy the helical. I bought a helical from bevrc for $17 so i could cqualify for free shipping but it seems that this antenna is going to be quite cheap.

Nice parabola reflector on your helical.
Did you calculate it or make it TLAR (That Looks About Right) ?

Nigel.

Hello Devonboy,
it's a truncated cone reflector, not parabolic, the picture makes it look parabolic.

It's calculated , of course, I try my best to keep it professional.

eBay 5.8G 200mW DIY Tx/Rx

Is there anyone tried this video Tx/Rx?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320905988296...84.m1423.l2649
Seller claimed that it's exactly same as HK's 5.8G 200mW Tx/Rx.

These are the same HF modules as they are used in HKs set, BUT, just the HF modules. That said you have to provide your own FILTERED power supply. So it's definately not the same thing as HK (to the best of my knownleadge) does not sell pure modules but complete tx and rx.

Forgot to mention that you also would have to provide your own way to set channels and SMA or SMA-RP PCB connectors so as you can mount antennas.

HTH

same modules but but not same performance, I have 2 pair of them although they do work but as markus said, you need to supply your on filtered power source and solder those connector your self, I'm using them slow park flyer as they are dam light to begin with , if for range it will need some more work
