It's a decoupling capacitor, not critical

where did you get it from? Are all the missing capacitors coming from the same place?

Now there's something, I was missing that cap too 12 months ago, I soldered one to mine just in case.

It looks like a normal ground connection. Check a wiring diagram of the TX and I'm
sure you'll find it's normal.

You were explaining the solder blobs right...What about that upper part of the pcb that looks like a small chinese mouse had a bite at it...does it look critical to you?

try it and see if it works. Doesn't look bad to me.

Among the foxtech 200mW: Anyone notice much difference in performance with the micro Tx as opposed to the regular sized Tx? I have a whole selection of these 5.8 Tx, and an extra micro Tx lying around which I might use for a larger aircraft.

Both Tx and Rx I got from FPVHobby (Turkey) were having the same kind of bad screen soldering. I reworked them in order to have all ground connections properly connected to the PCB ground.
I have no clue how it would work with only 1 or 2 operating connections.

So you are saying this is a critical pcb flaw? Should I issue a paypal dispute?

Slightly off-topic, but this thread seems to be as good a place to ask as any:

When using a 5.8Ghz CP omni antenna, how high do you recommend raising the RX/antenna from the ground.
I'm sure "as high as possible" will be a popular answer, but I'm looking to balance practicality with maximizing range on the omni and I'm guessing there's a point of diminishing returns.

No, you worry too much for no reason, the tin case is even optional, and will work ok without. It is not even needed as heatsing, the main heat pump is via the metalised pad near CHR3 text on the green PCB side.
The retail 200mW unit has no tin cover inside because it is covered by the radiator.

No need to return, is the typical variation of Chinese (lack of) products quality.
The tin case is not required at all to be aligned with PCB at micron level and have impecable solder to work flawless.
The channel choice will affect you much more than redoing tin case soldering to look perfect.
