Great thread... wonderful photos and videos!

Karl B2's Wisconsin Waters video cracked me up. Great choice of music, and a very interesting flying style.

I hope to add some photos after this weekend when I hope to fly my Seawind EP, FunCub on Floats, and my buddy's new Great Planes Catalina (I have a Dynam Catalina en route from the West Coast right now).

Good flying,

We have asked around, but no joy.

So you found a place to float-fly around Ocala? When we asked, nobody knew. Looks like a nice spot.

Those are all fantastic looking planes guys! I own 2 original League Models Neptunes. These pictures of my first Neptune was taken at the M.O.B. Float Fly last Spring in Binghamton, NY.

Sorry to say I had a problem with my stock carb on my Super Tigre .51 and the 3rd flight I had a "Deadstick" and I had to land down wind. When I went to flare to try and land, there was no reaction from the elevator and I lost lift resulting in pancaking really hard on the water. I wound up breaking my main spar and cracking up the wings around the center spar.

So now my first Neptune looks like this:

Right now I'm in the middle of making all the repairs. I just dug out the old broken spar and made a new one out of 1/4" ply. I re-sheeted most of the wing with new balsa and filled all the cracks with Balsa-rite. It's starting to look good.

This is a picture of my 2nd Neptune. This was taken the weekend before last just after its first maiden flight. It has Flapperons so I don't need to ever make waves to get off the water.

Beautiful OP, Looks like a nice rendition of the Cat.
I'm a victim for scale planes, war birds even more so.
I like the turret nose of the PBY. We have one in our harbour - wrecked and washed up on the beach during the war.

Actually we have at least 3 that we know of, 2 under water and that one on the beach at Low tide (we have up to 30 ft tides here).

We're pretty lucky really, wish they could all be recovered to museums though.

here's a few pix of my Guillow's PBY-5 - actually a very good flyer.

Here's my GWS Beaver, recently finished and test flown. I've made a few changes to the GWS kit, such as: Hobbyzone Cub wing, reshaped to look more like the Beaver, dummy radial engine, balsa tail surfaces with tailplane fences, individual water rudder servo, scale 'ish' float struts and reshaped float tips.
The first few flights were on the GWS 350C geared motor with 7.4v 1800mAh lipo, but it was obvious that the extra weight that I'd added had made it overweight and brushless power was required! Stand by for brushless Beaver updates, but for now I hope you like 'Lady Esther'

Here's my Beaver's first outing on 'real' water. This is the local river and it would have been very tricky to get the plane back if it had tipped over! After a couple of landings that Barnes Wallis would have been proud of, I finally managed a good one, and used that in the video. My Beaver still needs more power, and a little bit more weight in the tips of the floats, just to bring the CG forward a touch. Stand by for brushless Beaver.....

Hi Phil, I think I have seen your Catalina before. Very well done and you have got some serious skills to be able to build and fly a Guillows kit. I like it a lot.
