Need some advice on my setup sapac 70mm EDF
Ok this is not the normal EDF. This question has to do with a Queen Bee 100" wing that I converted to powered. I put a sapac 70mm EDF http://shop.rc-electric-jets.com/SAP...T-SAP30732.htm says over 900 watts with a 4s pack. I can only get 700watts out of the fan with a 4s 3300 30c pack. So I need a few ways to get a bit more power. My wing is 5.5lbs and does well but I need a bit more. I am not trying to make it fast just want it to have a bit more thrust.
1- do you guys know if you can go 5s with this fan and motor?
2- if the fan is just free on top of the wing does it have less power?
or does it need some type of tube in front and back?

Inlet ring/lip on the front end would help a bit - that sharp edged inlet will be robbing a bit of 'oomph' from your setup.
By eye, your plastic cup doesn't look to achieve much less than FSA - try making it a bit longer and get the rear opening down to 85 - 90% FSA.
Also, the blurb recommends weights up to 4.2 lbs - your 5.5 lbs is about 30% over that, which may account for it being a bit 'sluggish'.

2.25" or 58mm exhaust exit would give you thrust and speed. The radius-ed inlet lip will really smooth out the air, ad your spinner and tweak it to balance by rotating it a fuzz till its smooth too.
