The reason I ask, I tried to bind my new Delta 8 to my 6J using the same procedure as the factory receiver, which by the way did not work. It might be worth trying to bind the factory receiver using the method of the Delta 8 receiver. Turn on transmitter, press and hold binding button on receiver, THEN turn on or add power to receiver.

Also, there is some chatter on RCGroups that people are having a hard time binding 2.4 near WiFi routers.

Yes, in an RF smog environment it might bind faster when relocating the transmitter; mine does the same at home and sometimes has taken say 30sec to bind and establish the link. And the FrSky receivers have the "opposite" bind procedure than original stuff, with frsky you have to power on the Tx, press the RX button and then power on the Rx itself.

If your transmitter and receiver both support it, I see no reason why you would use fhss over sfhss. Latency is the same between them.

Si.
Sorry to dig up this post but I got one of these with my trex btf, and found it incredibly nice.

My question is regarding the spec'ced frame rate of 6.8 ms. From your post, to my uneducated eye it seems like your saying the frame rate is 9 and 2 packets are sent with the full 8 channels in total divided up amongst them.

Could I ask how you got these numbers?

I don't fully understand the implications, does this mean the latency is always 9ms assuming no packet loss?

Isn't that better than FASST or possibly FASSTEST?

I'm a simple heli guy, if this radio is that fast, I'll convert my flybar helis to this, from a dsmx setup, possibly even my FBL's via s-bus. Don't need nothing fancy. I only need 6 channels v bar and 3g mrs. Maybe 7 with a brain, but I can still find an 8j.

Or am I misguided somehow? Trying to understand why I should pay more for an 8fg or 14sg.

Futaba 6J Battery Charge Jack Problem

Just got a Futaba 6J four days ago from Tower Hobby. The charge jack doesn't work though the battery pack powers the Tx using either NiMH or AA alakaline batteries. Checked it with a battery charger and a volt meter with the switch off. Had the wire polarity right. Talked several times with Tech Service to no avail.

The response I got from several conversations with Tower and Futaba was to send it in under warranty (my expense $15) and they would look at it.

Had to order a charge jack ($9) and a new battery door ($4.90) from Futaba and they forgot to mention in the manual that you have to use only a Futaba NiMH battery pack at $48 a shot. So my $179 Tx actually cost $240.90 with $15 for return it will cost me $255.90!!!

Never, ever buy from Tower you can't return the merchandise like you can at a local hobby shop. I should know better so I think I deserve what I got.

I use BRAND name rechargeable. Double A's , charge them the night before I go to the field and easy and dependable. My 6J has been rock solid with zero issues. 48inch extreme flight
EXP's , 60" edge 540t, 50cc yak, what ever. ..this is a great radio. There are better looking
Transmitters...do you have to be handsome to be a good pilot? NO .
THE 6J IS AS GOOD AS MY 8J AND DX8 for almost all flying.

They both need 6 channel only, but real channels, not crippled to not affect sales of big brothers.
Too bad that's true.... I need to spend big bucks to get my next Futaba radio but something has to pay for R&D and a night out on the town I guess but wonder how Futaba's quality will survive. They should focus on larger sales number with less profit in the entry level without removing what costs nothing to not put in... but rather keep in that people expect now. Happy with my old 72mhz gear and DX9 that's been dependable and looked this up because a new company in China is making their inexpensive quads that are very nice on paper FUTABA S-FHSS compatible which might be the best thing that's happened to Futaba in some time.

If I were a kid just starting out with less than 60 bucks in my pocket I know exactly without any hesitation what I'd buy and surprise it's not Spektrum compatible with 11ms timing... but rather Futaba S-FHSS with 6.6ms. I'm sure this has caught Futaba's interest in more ways than one.
