OK on with the motor and fan installation.

The set up I will be using is:

Stumax Sm90-45 fan.

HET 700-68-1400kv motor

Castle ICE 100 ESC

Zippy 8S 5800mah


The Lander T-33 is designed around the RC Lander EDF unit. So for the Stu fan I just built up the area where the fan will sit. I still need to smoothen things out a bit where the two halfs meet.

The small opening under the fan is where the servo wires from the rudder and elevators along with the motor wires will pass through to the ESC. The ESC mounts in front of the fan where the wood plate is.

Thrust tube setup will be next.

Not much to report tonight other than I got a thrust tube made. The tube included in the kit I am thinking would be a perfect fit for the Lander fan but the Stu fan required a new tube custom fit for this particular application.

I painted the thrust tube flat black I never did like looking at the exhaust of a plane and seeing a clear plastic tube. Adds a little cool factor

Yup, I have the Tamia weathering kit with a burnt umber color in it standing buy to make the pipe look like it has a few hundred hours of turbine time on it

Step 1 in the instructions is to lower the nose gear. The gear door set up came out very nice. The doors have soft spring loaded hinges so they stay open. A flick of the gear switch and the doors started to open and the gear come out nice and scale. Going up was the same way. The factory did a nice job in adjusting the doors. P.S. I may stop using the term "build" for this kit as it appears all the hard work has been done for me. i think "assemble" may be a better word for this one.

I have ordered my T-33 and waiting for it. I do have one question, Looking at the nose gear door the hinges are they spring loaded? If so did they come with the kit or not. I've been looking for hinges that are spring load to keep my gear doors open until they retract. Thank You for oyour time....
