he he - did a double take too

on a serious note Are there any particular steps you can think of, when changing from 2.4 to UHF?
Currently flying stock T9X radio w/ stock rx, but got a RangeLink w/a T9X flashed w/ER.
Hooking up the rx should be straight forward, as soon as i figure out the channel order on the receiver ... what else?
How's the learning curve when going frm stock to ER on the T9X?
Thanks!

Nope, everyone I fly with has a dragonLink UHF system!
Well not my in the park buddies, but the more than 1000 feet guys.

I am thinking of doing the same thing. Make my 9X the uhf radio!
But with having a 9303 I can set it up to do both radios!

Zoom gps test flights

Hey guys,
Got the Zoom board flying with the zoom gps. Very little PID tuning so far. I assume I can make it better but the 2.1 software may be the limiting factor. If anyone is interested I can share the current PID's. If anyone is flying the gps I would also be interested in how its doing. My copter is about 500mm, AUW is 1250g, DT750 motors and HK SS25/30 using a 2650mah bat.

Position Hold
Rather boring. Copter is about 10 to 15 ft above the camera for about 8 minutes with PH and AH engaged.

Quad GPS Position Hold (8 min 43 sec)

RTH
Flew the copter manually away from the home position about 250 ft. Engaged AH and then RTH. Copter returns to home position and then overshoots home position as it rotates back to initial heading it had when I armed it. However it finally established itself over the home position.

Quad GPS Return to Home (5 min 22 sec)

It'll be interesting to see how this works out...
If 2500mw or 2.5 watts gets you 30-60 miles.
Then it has a distance range of about 2- 5 miles
But I have been reading the range of a 433MHZ 100mw transmitters can go about 1500 meters.
Some may get less and some may get more.
The antenna is very small but it can be done, 1/4 wave antenna.
I wonder if you replace the antenna will you get more than a 250 to 3000 foot range?

Okay I got that under from the shortest and longest range for a 100mw 433MHZ trasnmitter!
I just bought one too!

I have also ordered the Diamond antenna from RMRC and the openLRS folks are getting 5 to 10km on their 100mw system which is what this is based on. 5km (3+ mi) would be awesome!

Also, I've never been accused of spending wisely...

See you at noon!
