Hey Gregg!

I actually bought a set but then decided with the modified wing mounting I came up with that I should make sure nothing moves before using them. I doubt there is anything to worry about but I want to make sure they don't move (imagine if a slight gap opened up, bye-bye air pressure!)...

color match

maybe it is some sort of an illusion from the camera then- i paint for a living and see colors everyday- that panel is way "greener" than the boittom of the wing-

just my view on it- great job on the build on your part- can't wait to see it all finished.

I think it's the angle and/or light, the material IS different too, so that may account for what you are seeing. In person, they look the same.

And BTW, BVM fan or not if they were different, I'd want them the same too!

Its a small model but it takes more time to produce the glass parts than you'd expect. For that reason I don't think many would be willing to pay for the labor cost.
Keep me on your list (if you start one) to be a home for a potential short kit.

Jack, awesome work!! I'll make sure I don't get any finger prints on this at ejets....although the temptation may be too great!

The gear doors look like lack of primer or lack of paint coat to match with the wings.
Hope my are not that bad.
Got same color scheme coming.

Well, the material is very different from wings to gear/flap cover plate and strut cover, in person they look the same from any angle IMO. Pdawg is here on Tuesday to take some photos of his mini Electra and mine together, I'll ask him his opinion and ask him to post, in case anyone thinks I can't be impartial...

Jack,
My background is auto body shop.
I had 10 years experience painting, frame, and body works.
When come to paint.
I can tell how mistake was make.
The wing are paint in the mold.
The guy doing the good job to had proper coats spray in the mold and the color come truth.
The other guy painting door panel, hatch and servo cover.
He didn't follow the formula to had proper coats to match with the wing.
Trust me..when my builder paint.
I breath on his neck all the time and remind him not to screw up.
Once in awhile he did the same things.
Not enough coats one one part and come out different color.
Here is another things about painting.

If parts are spray with light primer. The other parts spray with darker gray primer. That also cause color not truth.
When painting color.
Chose best background primer for best result.
Light gray primer is best for yellow, red, silver, light blue, green.
Dark gray is best for charcal, deep marine blue, black...anything is dark color.

My new Electra will be here monday.
Hope my gear door panel is not bad....
Good things is underneath. If this on top panel and off that much. Someone are fire.

I'm not sure if you want to fight or just want to tell me how it is but it's not an issue. I already said they look the same in-person so just wait and see for yourself, it's all good. There is nothing different about these cover plates and strut covers, they are the same material and use the same paint technique as the bandit and all other BVM planes, relax!

I don't mind questions and I can take more pictures if necessary in diffrent light, I'm just not sure this is anything to worry about, BV's had a handle on painting techniques for matching parts for a very long time...

I'll take a picture of the completed plane outside today or tomorrow, I think once in natural light you'll see they match. BTW, I have all LED lighting in the room you see in those pictures, it's very harsh...
