[RCSE] Ebay experiences good or bad?

Hi guys,
I had a question for those of you who have had experience selling hobby stuff
on ebay. Over the last month I have put about a dozen R/C related items up
for sale on ebay, and nearly a third of the time I get a winning bidder, I never
hear from them again! Is the common or did I just run into a few deadbeats?
Its a pain because you have to pay the listing fee again to put the item back
up for sale, and your only recourse is to give negative feedback to that
person. Thanks in advance for your experiences.

If you file a non-paying bidder claim with ebay, you can re-list again without paying a fee.
Before the ebayer is tagged as non-paying bidder, ebay will warn them plenty.
2 Non pays by a bidder and ebay kicks them off.

I just went over the 100 feedback mark on ebay with all transactions sucessful.

Some sellers require a 10 feedback or greater for buyers to place a bid.
You can cancel someone's bid if they don't meet your spec. Not a good thing
to do in general but it can weed out the bozos.

I sold a few hobby things recently (model-related and
some old camera gear) and everything worked out great.
Several separate transactions with no problems.

The one fault I have found comes not from the sellers or buyers,
but the Ebay automated system. There are times when I have been
notified as a succesful bidder and have responded with the link
provided in the email sent by Ebay. SOMETIMES THAT MSG. SENT
NEVER GETS THROUGH TO THE SELLER !!! So, just sitting back and
waiting for the bidding winner to contact you may not be enough.
When the auction for your item closes, contact that person
yourself. I have had 2 items that I almost didn't get because my
msg. got lost in the Ebay melee'. Even when I am the bidder, I
send a msg. telling the seller I am ready to pay and am waiting
for the shipping to be calculated, if needed.

Blue skies,

Stan,

I have sold one item on eBay and had a fine response. Paid immediately by Pay Pal. Are you using Pay Pal?

eBay

I too have had problems with the eBay(and now PayPal) automatic responses. It seems they always eventually get there, but sometimes after 2 weeks!!! I list my items at pretty much the same times, so when I'm listing the new, I send out whatever necessary reminders for the items that were won. Bear in mind that some people(especially ones that are fairly new) don't know how to change their email address with eBay and won't receive your messages. Use the non-paying bidder feature, just make sure it's been 10 days or more, and I would mention the 10 days in your listings as well as something about contacting you within 24 hours of auctions end. Maybe mention that you reserve the right to cancel bids from people with less than 10 feedback. Have the non paying bidders had low feedback? At first I had a few problems, but have added several disclaimers to my listings... Looks like the fine print on a mortgage, but it becomes necessary... Good luck and don't lose hope.

One other thing.... If you're using PayPal.... since they were aquired by eBay, they seem to be suffering in the mail dept. too. Are you sure you didn't already recieve some payments and just didn't get the email notifications?
