The location is Montague, Ca. Same location as the FAI XC event held in June of every year. Montague is about 40 miles south of the Oregon border. 10 mile east of Yreka.
This will be our first time at GPS racing at this site.
Only advertising is this thread on RC Groups.
Before making it a big deal I want to try it first.
More general cross country information at xcsoaring.com.

Regards Dean

Interesting, thanks. Maybe next year I'll get out there. I live in DC, but I've been wanting to see the country before I can't afford to drive across it.

After the Montague XC this will be my main focus until the event date. It should be a laid back learning event and perhaps someone doing more laps than anyone else in the world.

Dean, I am going to try to make it. Will you have GPS units on the field or are they flyer supplied. Larry Jolly

Larry,
I presently own one GPS myself and may acquire another. I'm sure if a person doesn't have their own unit we can help out.

Let's start chatting/tweeting/twittering/photographing junk and emailing this event up!

Who is making a serious attempt to attend? The photo from the recent XC event of the back side of Mt Shasta got me all excited about visiting Dean's little slice of heaven again. You couldn't ask for a better host and more picturesque flying site.

I'll be there with Nimbus 4 and Ventus C

Mike

ps: Randy, if you and Matt don't make it down and fly in this event, you'll have some 'splaining to do!

Arrangements have been made with the Airport Manager and local RC club.

Scott Monarch and Randy Banta have agreed to tow.

Chris Pratt has agreed to CD the event and ensure we are doing things properly.

Rick Shelby will be there to help us with the GPS hardware.
I believe he will have units for sale.

This will be a test for the site as a GPS Triangle Race.

I have no idea how many plan on attending. How about an email to dean@xcsoaring.com.

Regards Dean
