Check out the Falcon 120 thread on RCU for loads of info and ideas on converting the Falcon/tornado/navycat to turbine use.
Not in my personal interest atm but general knowledge never hurts
Thanks...

I think many if not all turbine flyers are sensible enough to seek out waivers etc if required...or if not...to at least take steps to fly in areas that are safe. They are not machines for the foolish, thats for sure.

For any that have doubts about being good enough to operate a turbine? youd be suprised at how easy they are to operate and maintain. Helis are dangerous enough with piston engines..those blades can slice and dice easily enough. As for planes? I would get a nice trainer with a large stable wing design

TCW3 spec oil for 2 cycle motors is fine for turbines, used it loads of times and never a problem. Aeroshell is ok if you can get it cheap enough, but its not essential

Lots of guys are using Mobil DTE Light industrial turbine oil in model turbines with great results & it's recommended by at least a couple of engine manufacturers.

Shell t46is probably just the Shell equivalent of the DTE Light. - John.

All most of us use now is DTE lite, safer for a start, and much cleaner.

Ive been meaning to change over to DTE once my aeroshell500 is used up.

How much does it cost in US $.. What size containers does it come in.

When I bought two 5 gallon pails a few years ago it was about $4/qt. The price has gone up since.
I got it here: http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/NNSRIT...-SearchResults
You can also get it from McMaster Carr, Grainger, etc. and Dreamworks also sells it by the gallon.

There are many threads about it on RCU. Here is one: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10..._1/key_/tm.htm
