That's what I thought, this is a fresh model, no mix's, just the default throttle/pitch, I put in basic dual rates. I checked another model, same thing.

This is correct.Stop and think about it for a sec.Its a scaling thing.
The channel output is actually -100%/0/+100% for a total of 200 points. The curve menu is based on 100% of total travel. So every 1% on the curve menu translates to 2% on the monitor/output. 50% on the curve menu would show as 0 on the monitor/output.60%=+20% 70%=+40% etc.

I see, so it's important to check the monitor to know what throttle output your getting, since it's not going to be what you program, unless you program 100%. I would have thought they would explain this in the manual,as it seems kind of important.

No, that would be correct for the pitch curve, but the the throttle curve is a 0-100 scale, if he is programing 80%, the monitor should show 80% in that flight mode.

When you are in the throttle curve menu, does it show an "in" and "out" someplace? I don't have a DX7d, just a DX7, but I think they should be pretty similar.

There is no "in" or "out" on the throttle curve menu. It doesn't make sense to me, pitch curve yes -100 to +100 but throttle should be 0 to 100. I wonder if its a glitch in the up-date?

Read it again and think about it.The DX7 also doesnt show numerical values on the Monitor/output screen so you cant check what Im saying.Just think abnout it for another minute.Pitch with a normal swash is exactly the same.

Correct.
Throttle curve 0-100 for a total of 100
Monitor/channel output -100 to +100 for a total of 200
Think about what it is doing. If you set the curve at 50 the monitor should read zero.
Im a bit too tired to write out the equation but its not really much more than simple math.Think.

Correct.
Throttle curve 0-100 for a total of 100
Monitor/channel output -100 to +100 for a total of 200

Well, OK if that's how it is, but it doesn't really make an sense to me for the throttle channel to show -100 to +100 since that's not how it works... The other channels yes, but not throttle, that will just cause confusion..... You are right on my DX7 the monitor channel doesn't show numbers, just the position on a scale, but if I set a flat throttle curve at 80%, it shows on my monitor at just over the 3/4 mark, which would of course be 80%, not 60%..... Seems like a silly setup to treat the throttle channel like any other at -100/0/+100, since that's not how it works in real life, at least on an aircraft radio. On a surface radio I guess I can see it since middle stick is zero throttle, but on an airplane or heli, middle stick is never 0 throttle, its always 50% (assuming a linear curve with no expo).

If that's how they set it up on a DX7s, the programmer should be fired....

Question about the charge port in my DX7s: Is there a way I can wire up my transmitter (I am a very competent solderer) to be able to output power through the charge port from the TX battery (like the DX6i can do)?

Why would I want to do this? I've got my eye on a Heli-max 1SQ, which needs an Anylink to work, and to make matters slightly more inconvenient, the Anylink also needs to be powered by an external battery. This seems silly since there's a perfectly good battery already in the TX and it's easy to charge in any AC wall outlet.

Thanks!

I'm looking to buy a DX7s. Does anyone know who'd got the best deal on them?

Ultimate Hobbies has a really good price, but they're out of stock.
