Looking for plans for Stinson.. Plans found, thanks everyone

Thanks , AMA had the plans. I'll have them by this weekend.

I just bought a J Roberts kit of a Stinson SR-6.
Nice kit, no plans. Wingspan is 62 inches.

Does anyone have a set of plans I could buy? Pay for a copy? or get a digital scan?

Any information or on the Stinson SR-6 would be greatly appreciated.
RCM plans service has plans for the SR-5, a little different.
I have plans for a SR-7, again a bit different.

Paul

Thanks anyway, AMA had the plans.

Good luck with your search. I am obsessed with the SR-7 and am finishing up a "kit-bash" of Pat Tritle's SR-10 into a "fairly close-to-scale" elecric powered SR-7. I think that you could modify an SR-7 model into a "scale-like" straight wing SR-6 following the SR-5 and -6 Wylam drawings. Model kit designers usually have enlarged and changed shape of ailerons and flaps, for improved flyability. These changes affect the shape of the two-tone wing and fuseelage top color patterns requiring some compromises.

Thanks, have copies of pertinent Wylam SR-7 etc drawings. Have been doing this build on scale electric plane forum for one year with delays/lapses. In final stages now and anxious to get 'er airborne. Will be done up in 1937 Pepsi-Cola executive SR-7 red, white and blue aircraft logos and slogans with white background and dark blue wing and fuselage top trim. Has panelled cabin, functinal doors, seats, rudder pedals, instrument panel with "steering wheels", all wiring receiver, and servos etc concealed. Power is Super Tiger 10 brushless outnner and 2200 2S lipo., five HS-55 servos. Flaps have elevator offset.

Have been flying a Park Zone SR-10 foamy with flaps in the interim, great as a trainer!!

Paul,

I have this kit on the "stash pile" and took a look at the plan sheets. A large one-piece plan sheet for the aircraft of about 47" x 60" long and another plan sheet for the floats. Both of these sheets, in my kit, are in a "brittle" condition at the fold lines. Not sure where I can get the large sheet run off in its condition but I'll check on this. I don't have a large scanner. Give me a couple of days on this. BTW: In my shop is a piece of the original upholstery material used on the Stinson SR-6 when built here in Michigan; I have the blue color. Plan on doing the interior with this material.

Soft landings,

Joe

I think Bill Wylam used to live near you, but up the coast to the north some. He used to advertise his plans in the KAPA Quarterly and there was one special a few years ago on him too. Had a web-site and all, and charged substantially less the AMA could offer.

I would be very doubtfull on every plan of his after WW2. He sure botched up the B-29 by Boeing. Think he used to travel direct to some manufacturer, get their information, even before a prototype was produced. Thus a bit of warning, as some of his plans after WW2 are not too accurate. Not all, just a few.

J. Roberts. I did one of those once years ago, when they were still open, somewhere on the Pacific North Coast, as I recall, perhaps Colorado. And I did the floats as well. One of the most challenging task I had ever undertaken. I spent as much time on the telephone with them (no internet then) as I did building, trying to get the missing pieces, parts, decipher their instructions, and on and on. They "claimed" that they were in the middle of moving, and one excuse after another.

When it was finished it did make a great looking plane, and I had pictures, but connot find them on my computer. I will peruse my photo albums and see if I can find them and post.
