What I wish Obama would have said about OBL.

Would have been cool to say something like:

Quote:
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

Still, good job Mr. President!

Purely to secure a second term. Not hard to authorize a hit on a mass murdering terrorist.

I'm sure we will all hear Obama take credit ASAP even though the search is over 10 years old and evidence of his location started showing 3 years prior.

Well I guess if it had been that easy he would have been found a lot earlier.

Give credit to the intelligence that located him, the military who took him out and to the man who had the stones to make it happen in another country that specifically did not want us on their soil.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I should like to announce to the American people, and the world, that this morning, at my direction, US Special Forces have captured Osama Bin Laden. As I speak, the most wanted man in the world is in capitivity, and en-route to this nation's capital, where he will be charged with conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism, including the attacks on this nation on 11th September 2001.

Any questions?"

However, the events as they unfolded, are a pragmatic substitute for that.

Good grief - there is no way in the world that the USA could have taken him prisoner - there's already a 'Gitmo full' of those that nobody seems to know what to do with!

I wonder how long it will take for Osama's body to wash ashore?

ET,

Your cynicism is showing!

I think there are a few countries who would know what to do with him!

You've been playing too many video games if you think it's easy to authorize an attack like this. The risks are not only huge on ground, but also politically. If Osama escapes in a tunnel or you get the wrong house or kill a bunch of civilians in a foreign country without permission, you are toast.

As much as I dislike Obama's politics, to claim he went after Osama "purely" for a second term is disgustingly cynical.

It's amazing how anyone can warp any good news into the negative. Sounds like projection issues to me.

We are probably going to get some attacks because of this anyway. A live OBL would result in mass kidnaps and murders.
I would have loved to see him on trial in New York, but he was not about to surrender and those crackpot wannabe OBLs out there would have played silly buggers with real people, innocent people all through the post capture, the build up for the trial, the verdict and then revenge if/when he got executed.
As it is more innocents will die, but not so many in his name.

I hope.
