Which 3D helicopter?

Newb looking to get into 3d helicopters from planes. I have a DX6 DSMX transmitter. I think i'd like a flybarless heli because I hear they are a lot easier to work on. My buddy has a Walkera V450DO1 and loves it.

Looking for something comprable to that one.

Any suggestions?

I've got about 40 hours on this one...

And I have the G5 simulator and will be spending at least 20+ hours flying the sim before attempting to take up the new heli.

I will also be having my buddy setup and fly my new heli the first time to make sure everything is dialed in.

I know your looking for 3-d..But imo start with a fix pitch. New align 100 out. Looks like its going to give the blade msr a good run. cost $125. And will give you a good handle on 4ch. Try that for a couple months. Then jump to a good 6ch.

Don't get the Align V100 it flies like crap.

You should get a Blade 120SR for now, it's better to get the feel of flying a helicopter before jumping into a 3D one.

Your current experience is a long way from flying anything 3D. A Blade 120SR sounds like a reasonable start to me, too.

Yeah thats what everyone said when I was looking to get an aileron plane. I wanted to get a 3d plane and everyone insisted that I get a warbird to start out with. Needless to say I was bored of the thing within days and got my 3D plane. A few days later. no problems. and now the warbird is just sitting there. Waste of money.

Can you guys help me choose a 450 size 3d heli for a decent price that will work with my DX6?

Do you have a DX6 or the DX6i the DX6 is DSM only. I can't be sure ( old age CRS) but the DX6 Might not bind with the newer DSM2 receivers which might be a problem finding receivers if it's not a DX6i

Your good to go with DSMX it will bind to DSM2 the old DSM could restrict you some when looking for receivers I think

There really aren't many choices for a 450 flybarless that is within you budget. The only one I can think of is this

http://www.rc711.com/shop/alzrc-450-...?cPath=165_223

This is a 450 clone with a flybarless head and comes with an Align 3G flybarless system. You will still have to buy the servos though.

The setting up of a flybarless system can be quite complicated. You will really need local help, preferably a person who can set up and test fly it for you.

Why is flybarless more complicated? I thought the flybarless are less complicated cause you dont have to deal with the flybar in the way.

What else do I need to make this heli ready to fly? Also, does that rcvr support my DSMX?
