I'm interested but it was not clear to me after reading their website if non-club members were invited as other than specatators. In other words, if I come can I fly my EDF jet? It's the only warbird I've got at the moment but it needs a paved runway so this would be a great opportunity. Also, is the timing on the website still correct for how the event is going to play out?

I am confirming that it is open to the public to fly and looking into see if there will be a landing fee; but believe it is open to all AMA pilots. If I remember correctly, the first time I flew out there was a Warbird last year and it was before I was a member.

Ralph (who I think is the President?) just sent me email. Sounds pretty much like I would expect:

"As long as you are an AMA member and experienced RC pilot we will
be glad to have you come visit and fly with us. Directions to the
field on our web site. Please bring your AMA membership card with you."

I guess I'd just like to have someone confirm the schedule as it looked like open flying was in the afternoon. As long as it's nice I'm planning on coming.

That is what I thought, I just wanted to confirm before making any promises.

I know they are planning on running a fairly structured event and am not sure when designated open flying will be, but I imagine it will be dependant on how many pilots show up and how much activity is on the flightline.

I am planning on Warbirds all AM then FPV all afternoon at the Patch

You may have to skip Warbirds. The schedule looked to be oriented toward the afternoon with club meeting in the morning.

I'm just taking a chilled out Skyray edf (pretty dang slow for an EDF) down to fly. It looks cool, it's just not a super exciting plane as it tops out at I'd say maybe 55 mph (if that) but can easily be flown around maybe 30mph or less.

I plan on showing up in the am anyway, even if I only get to check out the flightline before heading to the patch. I love warbirds too much to skip it all together...

Skyray looks cool; its nice to have casual flying edf's for a change of pace.

I am not sure what I am bringing. As I don't currently own a warbird. However I won a neuport 17 at SEFF so I will try to build that this week. I am in charge of the Combat so that is my main focus this weekend. Plus the schedule is busy so I am not sure when open flying really is TBH. It a very different format then I am used to at a funfly. Not bad just different.

Last Flyer I recall is combat is at 2pm

Only requirement is no bigger then a 1350 mah 3cell battery.

It will be full contact just like we did at SEFF. Last man standing. If you gt shot down closest to the Marker will get a prize.

From the website:

"The member meeting will start at 10:00 in the morning, followed by a photo session, lunch, demonstrations and foamy combat. A raffle will be held at 2:30 and open flying will follow."

I'm planning on getting out there around 11:00, bringing a Sundowner to show to Brad. I'm not planning on flying, but looking forward to my first visit to SMRC and seeing what goes on.

So it looks like anyone AMA with a warbird will be allowed to fly both before and after the 12-2 demo.
