These guys ROCK! I wish I could do custom sceneries.

Can't wait to fly in the hanger!

Binnenhorst Lake

For sure, one of my favourites all-time is this one. Fly it every day now, feels relaxed, really beautiful.

Binnenhorst Lake is superb. It's been missing for awhile from HB's homesite, but I've found a fresh downloading link elsewhere.

"Poledancing" at Berlin-Tempelhof

I got stucked on one of these poles at Tempelhof-airfield - no chance to escape.
Well done, László - these crash-objects look realistic!

Try this download link and let me know what you think. I've added the collision objects so hopefully it should be close now. St Angelo Airport Hangar.

I've attached a few pictures. I was going way off there for a few days and had hundreds of collisions objects and it was getting worse instead of better but I started with a clear head today and think it's improving.

Appreciate the feedback.

Hi Stevie, looks good, some staves could be smaller in Creator. The crash-object is feeling quite realistic as my crash-compilation shows:

Thanks, really appreciate the feedback from an expert like yourself. Now I need to photograph the runway!

Stevie

PS. Love the video of the Beast in the hangar. Brilliant flying!

Stevie!
As the video is proving Your solution is good.

Still just for clarification I would like to ask something.
Was it your intention to present this cubemap and PSD? If yes why?

In genetral Phoenix is using 512*512 cubemap noncompressed,
file size is: 6 145 KB.
You are using DXT1 compressed file, size of which is 1 025 KB but it contains 54 mipmaps which are not needed.
If no mipmaps are included the DXT1 compressed file size is 769 KB, and
the operation of Phoenix is the same (only preview image).

At present no skyline and alpha masking is used.
If you decrease the width of the collision cubes or cylinders, and use alpha the result can be better. If DXT3 compressed this file will be 6 145 KB.

Hi László,

I change the Photoshop file to DXT3 and no mipmaps but it still is only 1.5Mb. I've attached a screen shot from Photoshop. I think it must be compressing it but can't find where it is doing it.

The .PSD file was left in as I was still working on it when I zipped the folder and posted it here. It was only left to keep my work together.

Thanks

Stevie

SORRY it was my fault. 1.5 MB is the correct value. 6.145, if the cubemap size is 1024*1024.
IMPORTANT. The size of your cubemap will be 1.5 MB even if alpha is set and the draw areas are assigned.

What is the best software to record a video from Phoenix? I've tried HyperCam but it is to jumpy.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I re-photographed the runway which we use during the summer months and tried to model it again for the sim. I'm still having problems with my alpha masks but you can fly behind the trees which is a start and the photograph quality is better. As is always the problem when the area is so massive scaling is off when flying behind were we stand but since you aren't supposed to be flying there I was more worried about in front of the pilot. Feedback appreciated as always even if it isn't positive!

You can download the files here.

Thanks

Stevie

Hi Stevie,

I regret having to say, as long as you are not familiar with the basic requirements of panorama photography all your Creator-construction work is wasted time.

Your panorama is bended again. Verticals have to be vertical.

Send me your images and I tell you how to set the vertical control points.

We also can use TeamViewer or Skype!
