Sorry for such a noob question, but I just got a 900mm pop wing, and can't find info on how to set up the electronics. Can anyone tell me where the servos should plug into the receiver, and what I need to do to get my dx6 set up to fly this thing. I've tried searching the forums, but I am a little to new to this, and don't understand the lingo yet. So please help. TIA

If you follow the directions in this thread below it will walk you threw the process of setting your Rx and TX up its really pretty simple just read it a few times...

The mod is only needed for the DX6i.
The instructions in that post are better than the video method.

Any recommendations on a motor for increased performance over the T2208 1370KV??

2212 size motor in the 1900-2200kv range will step it up.

Like a good old 2212-6 swinging a 6x4, 6x5.5, etc.:

Anyone else get occasional elevon flutter on the bigger popwing? I noticed when i'm flying on those windier days and i'm zipping around at WOT, every so often one, or both, of the elevons will flutter and cause erratic behavior to the popwing in the air. I slow right down, and it stops, then I continue on flying around....

All my linkages are nice and tight but with just enough play to allow for smooth servo travel. (no slop)

Any ideas on how I might be able to stop this from happening?

I've considered adding a second thin CF rod to each aileron but the problem isn't really elevon flexing. Maybe they just have their limits??

Did you try putting a little pressure on the servos on the bench?

Yep, i'm using some 9 gram metal gear servos and even on the bench with pressure applied, everything's free of any play.

It has me stumped. There are other guys at my club with these and I haven't seen there's doing it. I've looked at their setup and it's basically the same way i'm doing it. Servo arm, to straight piece of pushrod with EZ connector, to control horn with another EZ connector.

I've triple checked the EZ connectors and they are all socked down very well with ZERO play in them even if I yank on then very firmly. (I even used blue loctite "just for added measure")

Huh. good one. Let's see..

horn is glued in really well?
Do you have rates turned way down in the radio?
Did you re-hinge the ailerons?
Can the ez-connectors rotate in the horns?
is the straight rod (music wire) thick enough not to flex?

You may just be hitting some perfect harmonic frequency. See if you can change the CG ever so slightly.

horn is glued in really well? Yes, CAed and a little epoxy for added measure
Do you have rates turned way down in the radio? I have high rates at 75% and low rates at 45% Flies very well like this, yet the flutter happens on either "rate"
Did you re-hinge the ailerons? Nope, they are "stock"
Can the ez-connectors rotate in the horns? Yes
is the straight rod (music wire) thick enough not to flex? It's thick enough that it take some serious effort to bend them by hand.

I'll try messing with the CG slightly and see if that has any positive effect.

I use this one... very similar specs. Might save a couple bucks. 6x4 apc.
