X525 - First Flight (1 min 41 sec)

Near the end I attempted a loop, unfortunately it didn't come out as good.
Luckily the quad was damage free (surprisingly), but im not entirely sure why it happened.
What it did was go over and do a nice loop up untill 75% of the way, but just as it plained out again,
it made a sharp turbulent noise and violently flipped in the opposite direction before tumbling down.
You guys might have some insight on this, did I accidentally drop throttle too low?
Im sure I dumbthumbed it, the quad it pretty nippy in normal flight.

Its a KKuk blackboard v5.5 in normal mode, flying it QuadX.

Great thread! Been looking all-over for this sort of thing. I'm making the transition from planes to quads, and would benefit from tips on how to "think" about the craft, e.g. how to keep track of the front, coordinated turns, etc.

So if i am seeing this correctly, when doing a standing flip, you lower the throttle while keeping the elevator until it has completely flipped?

It's really not too bad. The key at least for me was not over thinking it. At first I was trying to do more than was really required.

First off make sure you are running on hi rates with a good amount of throw. If not it will not flip. Not sure what you are using but on my kk2 board I would never try flipping on anything lower than a rate of 70 on the board with my radio set to 100%.

Get it up nice and high and without changing throttle just give it full rudder stick and it will flip but lose quite a bit of altitude. This will give you the feel for how it flips. Then take it back up and begin pulling off the throttle when going into the flip then bringing it back up when coming back around. You will quickly start finding that sweet spot for timing.

i actually wish this post could continue.. warthox is just a godlike pilot... and this is indeed very helpful for people who wants to learn how to do the awesome acro moves

I thought rudder was for yaw?
