Baking tray that might work. I will raid Kim's cupboards when she is lookinng the other way, I am sure she will be pleased! I will just use the tray no foil. So I may have to buy her another tray but with the iron on top and see if that will put do it. Great idea Prime 8

Neat spitfire

Great job there Andy! It seems to fly very well. I happen to have 2, 1811's on hand. 1 is on my new Atom 100 wing. And the other woudl look good on a baby Spitfire.

Thanks

Thanks Charlie

Vermont, you live in a beautiful part of America, all that lovely colourful countryside I envy you.
Andy

I hope you build a Spitfire, everyone should have a Spitty. My P-40 was easier to build, but the Spitfire looks so good in the air.

need floats here!

Andy: Vermont is not so great this spring! After a winter of record snow, we have had record rainfall. I have only had my um J3 flying in the back yard 2 times. The fields & parks have been a flooded muddy mess. We just had 2 sunny days in a row. Things are looking up!
Could you please give some basic sizes for the Spitt. 20" span coard? fuz length? exc.

Thanks
Charlie

Hi Charlie

Here's some measurements for the Spitfire. Also the fuse tubes were 7 1/2" long x 5" wide (front) and 7" long x 6" wide, tapered to 3 1/2 (rear)
Hope that helps
Andy

Thank you Sir!

Thanks Andy! I cheated. I ordered a Spitfire & a Zero from Gravity Hobbies today. No flight pack, I will use my own. I will take some numbers down before I destory them. This way my wife won't have to trouble herself about what to get me for Fathers Day.

Hi Rick,

As promised, here's the A4 tiled plans for a 36" wingspan version of the Spitfire.
If you build it for your son, please start a thread in the scratchbuilt forum, it would be good to see how you get on.
regards
Andy
