Aaaaaalrighty then
Ordered in Germany on monday. Inhouse today! Great!

Hopefully with a non faulty motor ...

I gonna buy a spare motor anyhow and got some HXT900's stored.
I read a lot about a replacement motor, but don't know exactly what to buy.
I'm gonna buy at HK, that's for sure. I don't want a speedy plane but a fun aerobatics foamie with plenty of airtime.
Batteries I'll be using are 2200mAh 3s Zippy's

Anyone got an idea about the motor? Ow and maybe a good size one without the need to "dremel" the cowling.

Thanks in advance!

Ok, little update.
Unpacked. No damage, no surprises. Only an ugly sticker on the cowling.
Maybe has something to do with the European law concerning CE certificates ... who cares? As long as it flies

Gonna go for a little shopping tomorrow. The stabilator bolt system is awkward, gonna use other screws on it and glue it also.

The landing gear is worthless as stock, but I think with little modification it wil hold. I going to try to put some sort of spar in between the two legs, maybe it will look silly but if it holds it's ok. Also maybe put some nylon screws in it instead of the steel ones, they wil break on rough landing but will not ripp the whole undercarriage apart.

And now for the motor, I have absolutely no ideay what to do with it. Haven't tested it because I have to solder a 4mm banana on the ESC wich I don't have. Bummer.

Will keep you guys updated. But for now it looks promising. The foam is great quality!

mate dont fly it with the stock motor. Its really bad and it will only start smoking mid flight.

I would suggest you look for a turnigy 35-30 1400kv motor and put a 9x5 APC prop on it.

I dont think no mater what you do will it ever do 3d flight. The rudder is just not big enough.

Anyways good luck with it.

I just repaired the tail on mine but i still need to replace the rudder servo. The top plastic covering has also gone missing. Should fly fine without but it will create some drag and i would rather track it down first.

New landing gear with 5 cm diameter wheel. Ride better on the grass. Went off at the first trial because I forgot tu glue back the foam from the orignal one.

Concerning the stock motor, it does not smoke with 3S and 9x4.7 prop

Yesterday did some inspections and here are my findings:

- need to replace clevis (will use linkage like on my old TwinStar)
- need to replace motor & ESC (don't trust it, will keep it for a smaller plane)
- need to replace servo's (will replace them with HXT900's)

I just place my order incl. a Turnygy NTM 3530 and a 55A ESC.
Hope this will do the trick.

With 12x6 and 26amps...plenty power!
The ESC is Turnigy AE-30amps.

i'm using the Aeolian 3530 1100kv(very cheap too- $9.80 US!) and it has that much power it was tearing off the elevators. i've now re installed the the elevators using robart hinges believe it or not! and so far its holding together really well. i originally tried hinge tape, but Slopepilot was right and the hinge came loose again resulting in a crash.its flying really well now though with the robarts

Am planning to replace the motor with turnigy 3536 1400kv or 3536 900 kv. Which motor is better for this plane?

1400kv with a 10x5 would be the sweet spot i would think.

I run a 35-30 1700kv motor with a 8x4 and its stupidly fast. But i love it now.

Someone has a manual of the stock ESC? Or knows where to find it?
I'm going to use it in a small plane.

today maiden..if not windy

plane is RTF and video cam is charged..850 grams
got my 35-30 1100kv, 40A esc, I have a 9x4.5 to try on it, maybe got to store for a 12x6. Stock landing gear, carbon pushrods in larger sleeves, control horns, hs55's and 2 2200 zippies. CG is at 90/91 naturally, may try for 89 with some lead in nose. Wish me luck! Video later!

@ Slope pilot

Good luck. You will see that planes fly well

On my side I removed definitively the landing gear. It's faster and it's better to play the stupid "banderolle" at the club (There is one Thermic plane with a vhs tape behind it and you have to cut it with your plane.). I do not know the name in English. With the stock motor and 9x4.7 propeller, it's fine provided that the other plane does not speed too much.

In this configuration, the plane works pretty nicely for my skill. The only thing is that I think that the pro does not give enough air on the rudder and it's impossible to fly on the side (wings vertically)
