It has been shipped from German Warehouse. So maybe it arrives Friday...
It is for my 12 year old nephew, who is a junior member in our club. Right now he flies with scholar/teacher system and doing well.
So ones situation gets critical I take over, which is a great system...and saves planes.
These kids learn fast of course...and during this teaching I can enjoy this plane!

Landed from the Europe warehouse (Germany).

I will upload pictures later on.
First impression is good. Unlucky a few ditches in the tailpiece and they added a ugly HobbyKing sticker at motor cowl...which can not be removed without pulling of a bit of the paint.
The paint is this typical paint that keeps wet (at least gives this impression if you touch it)

Did test the servos and they work fine. The rest is for this evening, while building.
The servo links are a bit odd. They have small screw.... Most likely I will improve that a bit.

Weight:
wing = 224gram
Body (included the prop and spinner) = 414gram

Total without battery and receiver = 638gram.
Only need to add the bolds... (forgot the weight the tail bolds and wing bolds)
Depending on which battery pack... I guess it will weight arround 820gram.

l8r

Rob

ps. manual is german, but very limited...
CG they mention as 1/3 of the root and no manual about the used ESC

I want pictures of how the battery goes in. That's really lacking on the HK website.

Check the most right picture.
By the way... the blue color is much darker then at the picture. Much better.

The battery slides in there and then at an angle...
But I did not test yet.

I did a few things...but now it is bedtime

battery goes under the wing. plenty of room for 2200 3s, you could probably even put something bigger in there..

ooohhh yeah, baby she is noice!!

just un-boxed mine and the quality of this build is definitely one of the best i have seen come from HK. it looks awesome. haven't flown it yet nor put it together, but initial thoughts are this thing looks like it will be a rock solid performer. my mate had a look at the engine and is worried it may not be big enough for serious 3d, but i don't do 3d well, so i don't have an opinion on this yet. having said that, given the high quality of the build i don't get the impression HK would have skimped on engine specs.

Only thing i might change is ditch the slow fly prop and put an apc look-a-like on.

looks like it will take about 20 minutes to put her all together.

cant wait to fly her on sunday.. maybe i shoudl try to get to the fields saturday ;-)

unfortunately i have no pics or vid's becuase i am at work, so its kinda hard to start putting together a plane and take pics etc ..

looking forward to seeing the flight reviews come in!

cheers
p
